Real Madrid vs Leganes Prediction - La Liga Fixtures
The La Liga title race is back under the spotlight after the international break and our expert Nathan Joyes has provided his Real Madrid vs Leganes Best Bet, team news, lineups and fixtures preview.
Now out of the Champions League, Carlo Ancelotti will be focusing on hunting down Barcelona while keeping arch-rivals Atletico firmly in 3rd spot as we enter the final 10 games of the season.
Leganes welcomed the recent break having lost three of their last five matches, and as a result have slipped into the relegation zone. Is there any hope for them at the Bernabeu? Nathan provides his thoughts.
Real Madrid vs Leganes Prediction: A comfortable win expected for Carlo
Spain, La Liga, Saturday, March 29th, 20:00 (UK)
Although Real Madrid signed off with back-to-back La Liga victories prior to the international fixtures taking over, the break was perhaps welcome. The champions have endured a hectic period of late, playing no less than eight matches in February and five in 15 days in March.
They may have fallen out of the Champions League, but they’ve remained firmly on Barcelona’s heels domestically, a credit to Carlo Ancelotti who has worked with a squad struggling with long term injuries – especially from a defensive point of view.
Yet the way in which they bounced back from the disappointment against Atletico to beat Villarreal in their own backyard speaks volumes about their mentality – make no mistake that this team will take the title race until the final day if they need to.
Kylian Mbappe’s first half brace saw him score his 19th and 20th goals of the season in just 26 league matches, and there’s no doubt the Frenchman will be itching to get his 21st against a side he’s already scored against on Saturday.
After a flurry of decent showings on the road, Leganes head to the Bernabeu on the back of three consecutive defeats against Valencia, Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo. Having shipped in seven goals from those matches, stopping Mbappe could take a minor miracle for the side flirting with relegation.
The visitors adopt a 5-4-1 formation on the road, in the hope of making their two blocks difficult to break down and frustrate opponents. And although that strategy worked against Barcelona earlier in the campaign, Real Madrid will be wise to their tactics.
Keeping not only Mbappe but Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo quiet will be a tall order, whether or not one or two return from international duty a little rusty. The hosts have been so dominant at home in recent weeks, where they’ve had five different goalscorers from their last four home wins.
Real Madrid have struggled for clean sheets of late, but it’s no real surprise when you analyse their congested fixture list. The international break would have kept certain players busy, while others get some much needed rest, but this has offered the champions a chance to press the reset button and go again.
Leganes have only scored twice in their last five La Liga away matches, and having lost the reverse fixture 3-0, they’ll be focusing elsewhere to get much needed points in their bid for survival.

Real Madrid vs Leganes Injuries, Team News and Possible Lineups
Real Madrid remain without Dani Ceballos, Dani Carvajal, Ferland Mendy and Eder Militao, who are all long term injuries.
