It’s been a good tournament for Frank de Boer and the Netherlands. They won all three matches in Group C to book their place in the last 16. They scored eight times in their three group stage matches, that’s more than any other side.

The last time these two nations met was when qualifying for Euro 2016. The Czechs won both matches and topped the group as the Netherlands failed to qualify.
The Netherlands had the better of it in the groups. Only two sides had more shots on target than the Dutch. They had an average of 6.0 per match, twice as many as Czech Republic. England were the only other side that qualified and produced fewer shots on target than the Czechs.
That may be down to their style of play. The Dutch are a team of ball-carriers. They had an average of 13.0 dribbles per match, the most in the competition. The Czech Republic had 5.3 dribbles per match, the third-lowest in the group stage.
The Netherlands are the big favourites to get through. The Dutch are 1.30 to qualify for the next round of the competition. The Czech Republic are out at 3.40 to reach the next stage.

The Dutch should qualify for the next round. Frank de Boer’s men have impressed in this tournament so far. We’ve seen the best and worst of Oranje in the group stage with goals flying in at both ends. Selecting over 3.5 goals seems fair, as does both teams to score in a Dutch win.
These matches tend to stay tight in the early stages. Don’t expect too much action before the halftime interval. 0-1 goals in the first half is likely. But the excitement should pick up after the break as the match opens up. Georginio Wijnaldum is a big goal threat for the Dutch so expect him to find the net.
