Internacional vs Vitoria Prediction 1: Hosts to keep on winning

Internacional’s aim at the start of the season was to finish in the top six. That took a big hit when the severe flooding in the south of Brazil saw their stadium and training ground underwater – forcing the club to temporarily move.

Since, the 2023 Copa Libertadores semi-finalists have been playing catch up with their schedule, while key players have also been sold and abandoned the project due to what happened at the beginning of the campaign.

However, Inter have rallied and defied expectations due to an incredible run of form. Having lost just one of their last 11 matches at the time of writing, including four wins on the bounce, they are within touching distance of a top six finish.

A 3-1 victory vs Juventude was impressive against a side that don’t lose many, before title-challenging Fortaleza were brushed to one side 2-1. A 3-1 win away to Sao Paulo last weekend was mightily impressive, as Inter continue to shine.

Vitoria were in Serie C two seasons ago, and relegation is a real possibility for them. Inter should easily pick up three more points and the goals can continue to flow.

Internacional vs Vitoria Prediction 2: Two goal win

I’ll pick up on that last point because Internacional have been winning well of late. They’ve scored 11 goals in their last four matches, including three against Juventude, Cuiabá and Sao Paulo in recent weeks.

Inter have been a real threat in front of goal, which has been down to their Colombian striker Rafael Borre. The former River Plate forward has scored three in his last five matches, and continues to keep Enner Valencia out of the side.

In behind, there’s a good blend of experience and youth, from 17-year-old Gabriel Carvalho who continues to catch the eye of European clubs, as well as Igor Gomes and Thiago Maia who have been very impressive in the middle.

Vitoria haven’t been great on the road, losing five of their last seven games. Four of those five defeats saw them lose by two goals or more, with the other seeing Corinthians put three past them.

Inter are in the way up, while Vitoria are hanging on to their Serie A status, and the Asian Handicap line is very appealing.

Internacional vs Vitoria Prediction 3: Captain to score…again

One player I haven’t mentioned yet is club captain Alan Patrick – who deserves his own section – and completes what will hopefully be a trio of winning selections.

The 33-year-old doesn’t just keep Inter ticking over in the middle of the park, but he’s often found lurking in and around the 18-yard-box or supporting his strikers.

The Brazilian has been hit with a few injuries this campaign, but he’s played 90 minutes in his last three matches – and scored in all of them.

One of those was from the penalty spot, but it always helps to back an anytime goalscorer if they are responsible from 12 yards – especially when they are a midfielder, as this adds more juice to the price.

But he’s much more than just a spot kick specialist. Capable from free kicks, timing his runs into the box or striking from distance, Patrick is one of the most intelligent players in the league.

He loves Inter and the fans love him. And while he’s in a hot streak, it’s best to side with him as his club continues to climb up the table.
