In what could be one of the more underrated matchups of the first round in Cincinnati, Ruusuvuori and Wolf will take to the courts on Monday afternoon.
With both possessing powerful games, decent athleticism and a preference for quick, hard courts, the potential for big-hitting, entertaining tennis in this one is promising. Moreover, with Wolf being from the Cincinnati area, the crowd that does gather for the day session is sure to provide a great atmosphere for their hometown guy.
This tilt checks most of the boxes I have when looking to back the overs market in a match.
Strong first serve and forehand combinations ensure that this should be a serve-oriented affair, means we are likely to see plenty of service holds from both.
We have two guys that play relatively low margin-for-error games, which means each could struggle with bouts of inconsistency leading to unforced errors.
Finally, both are comfortable on quicker hard courts and playing power tennis, so we aren’t likely to see a stylistic edge that overwhelms one of them and keeps this match under in a routine two-set match.

I’ve written before about looking for players that can play electrifying tennis, but also struggle with patches of inconsistency as good candidates for backing the over games markets.
Karen Khachanov was one such player who tends to find himself in his fair share of three-set matches, with Ruusuvuori and Wolf both fitting into that category as well.
Again, this isn’t about the trend itself, so much as the reason for said trend. I’ll back these two to play a fun, closely-contested match!
