Big win for the big-hitting American in Morocco on Wednesday against Rakhimova. That win, however, doesn’t change much of what was written in yesterday’s preview.
The style still simply isn’t the most effective on clay and the power can be far too wayward, far too often.
Squaring off with Bronzetti, I’m happy to oppose her once again, with Bronzetti’s form finally beginning to turn.
It had been a horrific start to the 2023 season for her, but a WTA 125K event in Florence helped turn things around, with the Italian reaching her biggest semifinal this year on home soil.
She’s also taken out a slew of players that can outhit her and prefer playing on hard courts over the course of the last two weeks.
Last match she managed to beat Tatjana Maria, another big server who isn’t at her best in slower conditions and that should help her as she prepares to return against another very tough server on Thursday.
Lucia Bronzetti vs Alycia Parks Best Bet
Bronzetti is by far and away the better clay courter in this matchup, and a price of 1.77 isn’t right by my estimation.
The only concern here is that the 24-year old has spent about four and a half hours on court between her matches on Tuesday and Wednesday, which could potentially lead to some fatigue as the match wears on.
That isn’t enough, however, to bring her probability of winning this match all the way down to 56.5% in my books.
