Diane Parry vs Ekaterine Gorgodze Expert Tip
- Expert Tip: Parry -4.5 Games
- Best Odds: 1.80
- Bookmaker: Pinnacle
- Stakes: 3/10
Younger, more talented, on a better trajectory and in better form. Parry checks all the boxes in this matchup to back a player who has to overcome a rather hefty handicap.
Gorgodze is coming off a terrific result on Monday but was playing a pretty poor player. She’s underpowered, hasn’t had a good year and is in all likelihood past her best tennis at this point.
Odds as at 4:00 am UK Time on November 28th, 2023. Odds may now differ.

Diane Parry Recent Form
Parry has taken a strategic route back to the top 100 in recent times, ensuring she’ll have her spot in the Australian Open main draw secured.
After major struggles during the summer and fall hard court swings, the 21-year-old returned to clay to rack up some wins and rankings points. She did so by heading to Heraklion, Greece, where there are often weaker fields, lower-level ITF tournaments to play. She won eight of the 10 matches she played, before switching things up and heading down to South America to play the 125K events on clay, reaching another final in Colina a few weeks back, which helped propel her back into automatic qualification for Melbourne.
After a loss last week early coming off that final in Chile, she’s back at it this week in Argentina, looking to keep pushing her way up the rankings.
It’s a nice first-round draw for her against Gorgodze, who has been poor in 2023 and doesn’t do anything special on the court.
With Parry being comfortable on clay, she’s more than capable of posting a lopsided set or two en route to victory.
Ekaterine Gorgodze Recent Form
Considering the relatively large sample size of poor form for Gorgodze, even on her preferred clay courts, I’m not sure we’ll see Gorgodze back inside the world’s top 250.
She has a few wins over the last few weeks, but not one of them was against any player of note.
Since the start of the 2022 campaign, she’s put in plenty of volume but has a losing record on clay courts. When she runs into talented youngsters and strong competition, she’s really struggled, while also mixing in some losses to lower-ranked ITF players.
Without much power and without the requisite stamina to win as an underpowered player these days, her game has dropped off a bit too much to continue playing at a high level.
Diane Parry vs Ekaterine Gorgodze H2H – Stat of the Match
Two previous encounters between these two, with both being on clay. They split the pair of matches, with Gorgodze sneaking past the youngster last year and Parry dominating the Georgian in 2021.
They both came at this level as well. With Parry being the younger and much more improved player and obviously being far more likely to win by margin, I’m happy to back the more talented player on a better trajectory, even if it means giving up a head start.
