Denis Kudla vs Tristan Schoolkate (LTP Challenger): Tuesday, September 26th

No luck with Dino Prizmic, as he fell in two tight sets against Hugo Gaston, who was certainly playing at the higher end of his range.

For Tuesday, we head to the LTP Challenger in Charleston, South Carolina for our ATP preview and have a bet on Denis Kudla vs Tristan Schoolkate.

Denis Kudla vs Tristan Schoolkate Expert Tip

After seeing Kudla find his level last week in winning a Challenger tournament in Columbus, I’m happy to back the American here against a lighter-hitting Schoolkate.

The form was concerning earlier in the summer for the 31-year-old, but he looked back at home on the quicker hard courts in Columbus and finally re-found his rhythm.

  • Expert Tip: Kudla -2.5 Games at 1.80 with Bet365, using 4/10 stakes.
Note: -3 Games available at 2.06 with Pinnacle, which will be used for grading purposes.

Odds as at 4:30 am UK Time on September 26th, 2023. Odds may now differ.

Read on for more expert insights.

Denis Kudla Recent Form

After a few quarterfinals at this level in Ilkley and Bloomfield Hills, Kudla had some stunningly poor losses this summer.

The Columbus run was far more indicative of his level in Challengers though, and he should be confident once more on home soil and on courts that typically play between a medium and fast.

Much like Jodie Burrage in our women’s preview, Kudla prefers them on the quicker side and is one of the better players at this level at dealing with a lower bounce.

Nothing really stands out about his game, but he certainly has enough pop to generate free points with his serve and dictate play on his forehand wing.

Tristan Schoolkate Recent Form

While I’m a big fan of Schoolkate’s work rate on court, I’m not sure his ceiling is high enough talent wise to ever rise above being an average player at this level.

I think he’s a tad underpowered, and that makes it really tough to make it to the upper echelons of the modern game.

He’s had an okay summer, with impressive showings in Bloomfield Hills and Granby, but there are also plenty of losses to the likes of players like Strong Kirchheimer, Matija Pecotic and Aidan Mayo that don’t look so great on his resume.

I’m going to go ahead and oppose him with a fairly strong player who has found their form.

Denis Kudla vs Tristan Schoolkate H2H – Stat of the Match

The only time that Kudla and Schoolkate have played was actually just last week in Columbus, where Kudla won the title.

I’m not too keen on overreacting to a single match, but the fact that the market has barely reacted at all is somewhat surprising.

Sure, that was played indoors and this match will shift outdoors, but it was still a six-game margin of victory and I do think he’s probably about 4-4.5 games better than Schoolkate at the moment on any hard court that isn’t slow.
