Aryna Sabalenka vs Daria Kasatkina U.S. Open Preview and Expert Tip: Sabalenka to Continue Dominance Over Kasatkina
Aryna Sabalenka vs Daria Kasatkina (U.S. Open) Monday, September 4th
Well, I thought about splitting the stakes between Pera to win a set and Pera to win the match, but I had the outright win as showing too much value to pass up. In hindsight that sucks, but I’m still comfortable saying there was far more value in 5.00 for her to win the match. As I said Friday, embrace the chaos. Sometimes that means losing from a set up.
Monday marks the conclusion of the fourth round, as the tennis grows more and more meaningful and we get closer and closer to crowning a pair of champions at the year’s final major.
For our preview from the WTA side of things, we’re into the second week at the U.S. Open. Let’s preview a rematch from Cincinnati and look at Aryna Sabalenka vs Daria Kasatkina.

Aryna Sabalenka vs Daria Kasatkina Expert Tip
This one is relatively simple for me. Since Sabalenka has added even the slightest amount of rally tolerance to her game, it’s simply too hard to construct a path for Kasatkina to beat her.
Further, it’s hard to see how she even keeps things close. She doesn’t have a serve to keep Sabalenka from pressuring her service games consistently, and as elite as her return game and defending are, that is all rendered useless if Sabalenka lands her first serve and her plus-one forehands.
Don’t get me wrong, Kasatkina has caused many players to trip up despite really not having much of an attacking game to speak of. It’s why she’s managed to be ranked so highly – an impressive feat in itself. Against the elite of the game, however, that isn’t enough.

Aryna Sabalenka Recent Form
Sabalenka’s summer leading into the U.S. Open may not have been as successful as she would’ve liked, but she’s been as dominant as one would expert so far in New York.
Her losses this summer have come to the resurgent Karolina Muchova and hard-court specialist Ludmilla Samsonova. Not only are both of those women quality players, but they both have strong first serves that can help them push Sabalenka back behind the baseline. This matchup won’t give the Belarussian such problems.
As for the first three rounds of the U.S. Open, the world No. 2 hasn’t yet dropped a set and has lost a total of 12 games through her six sets played.
Needless to say, she’s feeling it in New York.
She has the serve, power, hard-court prowess and form to dominate this matchup and there’s no reason to believe she won’t do so again.
Daria Kasatkina Recent Form
One has to commend Kasatkina on reaching such heights in the sport with the game she has.
She has tenacity many players could only dream of and her ability to extend points and utilise topspin to force opponents into more passive shots is unmatched.
That said, she really struggled to generate any offence and her serve is vulnerable – to say the least.
Against lesser opposition, backing Kasatkina is always a fairly strong wager. When playing the elite in the game, however, not so much. Sabalenka falls into the latter category.
Aryna Sabalenka vs Daria Kasatkina Head to Head – Stat of the Match
These two have played six ties, with Sabalenka emerging victorious on four occasions.
More importantly though, is the fact that Sabalenka dominated the only match these two played this year.
In previous years, the more erratic Sabalenka was susceptible to the defensive style of Kasatkina. With added consistency, it’s one-way traffic now.
