That’s right, we did pretty well with the Game 2 predictions, and the two winners from the three bets on the board brought in good money. So, let’s do it again, shall we?
The line setters seem to think that the Cats will pounce at home giving them the favouritism at 1.80 on the Moneyline. Another thing that has changed is the line on the total, as the oddsmakers now think we can expect a high-scoring game. Games 1 & 2 featured a 5.5 on the total, and we nailed that Over 5.5 as part of Monday’s best bets.
That doesn’t influence me in the least because I was already expecting high-scoring games in Vegas, so why would that slow down now? Florida is on the ropes because they’ve simply been outscored 12 – 4. Let’s also admit to anyone who is watched Games 1 & 2 that those Florida goals weren’t exactly inspiring them to keep up the pace with the Knights.
Even though Florida scored the first goal of the Stanley Cup Finals, a 2 – 2 tie at the end of the 2nd period was the last time Florida was even close in this series. Vegas has outscored Florida 10 – 2 over the last 4 periods of the finals, and Game 2 was just a complete debacle. After going down 4 – 0, Florida scratched the net but it was 6 – 1 before the Panthers even knew what hit them, and a 7 – 2 final saw the home crowd go bonkers. (And my goodness, did that crowd surely affect the outcome of Games 1 & 2)
Can the Panthers faithful recreate that type of atmosphere because they’ll need more than just a willing group of fans to lift them to victory? I don’t know how any venue does what they do in Las Vegas because it’s, well, Vegas, baby!
Florida has gotten through Boston, they made Toronto and Carolina look futile, but this Knights team just has so many good things happening right now. Adin Hill is on his way to an MVP trophy to go with his first ring, and he has simply been outstanding to watch. Hill has faced 66 shots on goal and only four of them have seen the net behind him. Of course, it is nice when your team is scoring in front of you to not make your mistakes inflated in a close game situation. When he gave up that goal when Vegas was up 4 – 0, not a single head went down and Vegas scored the next two goals so which team got inspired?
The Golden Knights drew their swords, and I don’t think that Florida has enough firepower to deal with Vegas, home or not. I assume they will toss another 30+ shots at Adin Hill, but he has proven that he is up to the task of keeping pucks out of his net. This total is going on your board, but the Vegas Team Total is also doing a double for us as it did in Game 2. William Hill is offering a 2.50 line on the Vegas Over 3.5 Goals, and you are damn right that is our style around here.

Vegas is going to grab all 4 of those goals we’ll need to pocket the 2.50 on their team total. I will let you decide if the straight total of 6 is worth a look because the lines I see are about 1.91 and higher. If you can get a reasonable line with minimum juice attached, you can surely add the Over 6 to your card on Thursday for a bonus bet!
