VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS VS FLORIDA PANTHERS BEST BET: MONDAY, JUNE 5th

The Vegas Golden Knights earned a resounding home-ice win to open the Stanley Cup Finals on Saturday, 5 – 2, and now it is up to the Panthers to respond. Adin Hill made some incredible saves for the Knights in Game 1 to help lift his team to victory but the Panthers have been road warriors in the post-season.

Can the Cats level the series or are we headed back to Florida with the Knights in early command? Let’s break down Game 2 and see what Ej has to say about it all.

In this article:

Vegas Golden Knights vs Florida Panthers Preview

June 6, 01:07 (UK time)

Well, I blew my call on Saturday expecting the Cats to continue their road success, so as usual, I apologize for the bad suggestion in Game 1. That convincing win on paper does not mean that Florida didn’t play well, however, because the third period was ultimately where the game was won or lost.

Both teams scored in the opening frame and I wish I had made that my best bet for Game 1 because those odds were tremendously in our favour. I saw Pinnacle offering 2.80 for the 1st P BTTS, and there is just about the same value for Game 2 on the expectation of a 1 – 1 opening period for Game 2.

Both Teams scored in the second period as well in Game 1, and as I said above the third period was a complete debacle for the Panthers and that is why the final score reads 5 – 2. It was hard to watch all of the mental breakdowns for the Panthers, as there were four different players charged with misconduct penalties alone.  Amazingly, the Knights didn’t score a power-play goal in the third period from all of the time that Florida spent in the box, but there were none among the three goals that were scored for the Knights.

The Knights had five different players score goals in Game 1 on Saturday, and if you didn’t see some of the saves that Adin Hill made you should look for those highlights. That dude kept at least 3 pucks out of a net that he had no right stopping, and the building only filled with intensity after each one of them. I don’t know what the decibel level was when that empty-net goal was scored to clinch the 5 – 2 win, but let’s just say there can be earthquakes in the desert! HA!

So, we know that Florida lost Game 1 of the series against Boston to start the Stanley Cup Playoffs, so tell me how the rest of that series played out. No, let me tell you because that was the only game that Florida has lost in the entire post-season until Saturday’s Game 1 defeat.

If you have noticed, the line setters are churning even more juice on the Knights for Game 2 than they did for Game 1. Florida was posted as my best bet for Game 1 at 2.10, and now I see a few sites offering odds of 2.21 for the Cats to respond and win Game 2.

I do think Florida will respond, but I also think that goals will be the theme of Game 2. I don’t think we are going to see a low-scoring game in this series at all now, and the Over 5.5 is only listed at 1.91 in most major books. Both Teams to Score in the opening frame is also just full of so much value that I cannot ignore it again. So…

Vegas Golden Knights vs Florida Panthers Best Bet

Let’s make it a few options for Game 2. The BTTS in the 1st Period has odds of 2.70, and that is your first bet to make. The Over 5.5 is 1.91 and that makes bet #2. And, the main bet of the day you’ll see below will be Vegas Team Total Over 3.5 at 2.20! A trifecta of action for Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals!

  • Selection: Golden Knights Team Total Over 3.5 Goals
  • Best odds: 2.20 (William Hill)
  • Stakes 4/10

Odds as of 9:00 am June 5, 2023. Odds may now differ.
