St. Louis Blues vs Minnesota Wild Best Bet: A Central Division Showdown
St. Louis Blues vs Minnesota Wild Best Bet: Wednesday, March 15th
The Minnesota Wild are trying to keep pace with the Dallas Stars for the Central Division lead as three points separate the two teams atop the table. The Blues’ playoff chances went out the window quite a while ago but they will try to give Minnesota all they can handle at home on Wednesday night at the Enterprise Center.
Our resident pucks expert Ej Garr dished out another plus-money winner on Money with 2.32 odds full of value, and it looks like he’s picked out the total to discuss for this match. Let’s take it to the ice and take a ride on the Zamboni.

St. Louis Blues vs Minnesota Wild Preview
March 16, 02:35 (UK time)
There are four hockey games on Wednesday night and I decided to pick out this match because of the total being offered at a reasonable price. Now, you know I want to keep us as close to even money as I can with every tip and I love going beyond that to offer bigger odds with extreme value.
I thought about moving this total to 6.5 instead of playing the straight 6 at 2.00, but to be honest the price is not worth the line move. I am only seeing 2.25 at most major sportsbooks for the Over 6.5 with OT-Included, and $25 to me is not worth putting us out of position to push our action, just in case.
As much as I love to offer plus-money tips, I am also one who likes to be in a position to push/void action, because this betting stuff is not as easy as I have made it look lately.
Minnesota has scored 4 or more goals in their last 3 games, and that 5 – 4 loss to Arizona last time on the ice really still sticks with me. Giving up 5 goals to the Coyotes when you are chasing down a division title is unacceptable, and the only thing that result did for my confidence was pointing to another over to hit the board.
The Blues have hit or pushed the Over 44 times out of 66 games played this campaign. The 3.7 goals allowed per contest by the Blues lends to those stats. I also noticed the fact that these two teams love scoring in this building when they play each other. In the last 10 meetings in this building between these two teams, there have been at least 6 goals scored in the game. I love little intricacies about home ice and how teams play each other when they meet in certain buildings.
Hell, in the last 7 games that the Blues have played the over has poured in each time as well, so why would we shy away from the expectation of goals being scored tonight? We won’t make that mistake!
Minnesota let a big opportunity slip away against Arizona losing a 5 – 4 game on the road, and Boston is on deck after this game which will present quite an uphill battle. The Wild has got to be sure to earn these two points tonight, and they better take advantage of a horrible Blues defense to get there.
Marc-Andre Fleury and Jordan Binnington are listed as the probable starters in the net tonight, and Binningtons 3.33 GAA has not helped matters a bit this year. In 8 of his last 9 starts, Blues’ opponents have scored no less than 3 goals and I don’t think the Wild will stop there.

Let’s not forget that horrid start that Fleury had to begin the campaign, and I don’t trust him at all because of it. Sure, his stats are respectable now with a 2.76 GAA, but his propensity to get lit up always sticks with me. This is a 4 – 2 game waiting to happen, so I hope that either Minnesota finds the empty net or St. Louis tightens up the game with a late goal to get us to 7 goals. I love my safety net of the Over 6 in this spot, and even money is far from anything to shy away from in this spot!
