The Philadelphia Flyers and New Jersey Devils open the 2022 campaign at the Wells Fargo Center on Thursday night, and the line setters have left the building. Well, it’s actually more like gone brain-dead, but let’s just call this the preview for the game in Philly tonight. Drop the puck!

Seriously, this team was every adjective in the book that is a synonym for rubbish or rhymes with spit if you get my drift, and then the pre-season happened this year. Let’s go out and follow up on one of the worst campaigns in club history with that kind of pre-season effort building into the new campaign. Is that a joke?

Listen, I get that wins and losses are not a big deal in the pre-season, but my God man, show up much? To a man, how the hell do you look around the locker room having confidence in anyone around you when you don’t even think you can win hockey games?

It is going to be another long, miserable season in Philly and I am okay with that being a Rangers fan. Sorry, and no, this is not my way of stepping on their faces to be some kind of a rival jerk, it’s because of what we are seeing on the ice.

If you have confidence in putting your hard-earned cash on Philly over New Jersey tonight, you are failing to take advantage of a season-opening gift and you need to take up knitting! Make me a Flyers scarf when you’re done, and if they win this game I’ll take a photo with it to prove I was the wrong one.
