Ottawa Senators vs New York Rangers Best Bet: A Canadian Carneval
Ottawa Senators vs New York Rangers Best Bet: Wednesday, November 30th
After fading his own team to chase down the dough, our resident NHL expert Ej Garr kicked off the week 1 – 0 and found more value with another Rangers game on Wednesday night. The Blue Shirts will make the trip up North to face the Sens, and we might have a carnival of goal-scoring in Canada!

Sometimes we just have to fade our own team to scratch out the cash, and that’s just what we did to start the week when the Devils knocked the Rangers in the teeth, 5 – 3. The cause and effect from the 3rd goal debacle against Edmonton indeed carried over to the Jersey game, and the Devils took both points from us.
Well, I knew it was coming, and I know what’s coming tonight when these two defen… wait, I almost said defence and Senators in the same sentence, phew, that was close! And the way my Rangers are defending the net right now I wouldn’t exactly call us in form either! The Rangers have allowed no less than 3 goals in their last 4 games, and just like their goal differential is only +2 for the entire campaign.
So, I opened the lines for all of the games tonight, which there are only 4 so I had a limited slate of games to pick from, I had to come back to the Rangers in this spot because of the total. Now, we have two ways of looking at this. I see the Over 6 in regulation time at 1.89, and I also see the Over 6.5 with OT-Included at 2.00. I mean if these are our options we are going with A, Option 1, the first of the two choices because 6 goals are coming tonight. No one wants to really push action too often, although the day I shrug away from putting myself in a position to void a bet and live another day you can shoot me! I am the type of bettor who will always accept my money back for a push because over the long haul those come in handy. I would rather be 6 – 2 – 2 than 6 – 4, wouldn’t you?
Seriously, come on now, if that doesn’t put it in perspective for you, stop betting on sports and take up knitting!
Anyway, you know I watched the Devils dismantle us on Monday, so now I am wondering how we can stop anyone at this point. Igor Shesterkin is giving up 4 goals seemingly every damn night this year, and we all know he was an absolute stud winning the Vezina with a 2.00 GAA, so where did he go?
Is it a confidence thing, is it the Rangers’ defensive back line pushing more than getting back? There is a lot going on to cause a goalie to all of a sudden be a different dude, and my confidence in him is shot right now. I don’t even care where his confidence is because if he has any I have no idea where he found it.
The .912 save percentage needs improving and that second period against New Jersey after a 2 – 2 opening frame was tough to watch. Heads were down and the empty netter sent all the fans home pissed off! Yeah, hey, me too!
Shesterkin is listed as the probable starter, and they didn’t mention anything during the post-game that would make me think otherwise. We (the Rangers) can’t let his confidence slip too much further or else our second half of the campaign will be filled with questions.

Cam Talbot and his 3 – 5 record with a 2.51 GAA is who I see listed to start between the pipes for the Sens. Do you see it? Come on, do I have to do everything here? HA!
Talbot at home and Talbot away from home. Look at those stats and tell me why you would have any confidence in Talbot playing in this building. You don’t, because he’s given up 22 goals in 5 home starts and hasn’t come close to winning a game here this year!
