ST. LOUIS BLUES VS TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING: AN UPSET BREWING AT ENTERPRISE
The St. Louis Blues will be rude hosts when they open the doors for the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday night, and that means I expect an upset to happen tonight in St. Louis. Tampa Bay arrives to tonight’s game as considerable favourites yet the Blues are the team that has won four of their last five games heading into tonight’s home game at Enterprise Arena.
The Blues are fresh off a quick trip to Colorado where they only had to play one road game before returning home for this contest against Tampa. St. Louis is about to embark on a West Coast road trip after tonight’s game, but the flight back from Denver has everyone in a good mood around the Blues locker room.
When you score eight goals in one game and break out a snowman against a relatively good team as the Avs are (2nd place in the Central Division table), St. Louis probably can’t wait to get back on the ice again. Brayden Schenn basketed a hat-trick, and talked about someone who needed a boost, right? Schenn had only scored two goals through the first 12 games of the new campaign until the breakout against Colorado.
Oddly, Schenn jumped to second on the Blues in scoring with five goals to his credit now, so it’s not like we see that much offense from the Blues that often. The Blues power-play barely exists ranking 31st in the NHL, so learning how to take advantage of those situations has to be corrected if this Blues team plans on winning more games.
Luckily, they get the Ning at home who have lost three of their last four games and I told you all this was coming if you recall. The absence of Mr. Goalkeeper for the Lightning will end up being something that this team will not be able to atone for, and we see the proof in the numbers.
The Lightning rank 28th in defensive goal scoring and shots allowed per game, and Jonas Johansson is expected to start again for Tampa tonight. Johansson has an inflated 3.42 GAA while his counterpart Jordan Binnington has looked more like his old self lately.
Binnington is sporting an impressive 2.52 GAA and a .923 save along with it, and that gives me more confidence in tonight’s home team to get a win.
I will tell you that last night when I started looking into this game knowing I was going to use it for Tuesday Night’s NHL Parlay, the line was 2.62 at Marathon but all of that has changed now. The best lines I can find are at Pinnacle which is now at 2.30, and that still holds plenty of value to me. Not to mention what it does to boost our combo odds to a lovely 9.19 with my next two totals.
Bet365 is only giving us a 2.20 price, so that will have to suffice since that is who we use around here for our lines.
NASHVILLE PREDATORS VS ANAHEIM DUCKS: FEED THE FORD ICE FANS
Bet365 is showing 1.87 on the Over 6 with OT-Included for this game, and I don’t think I could suggest you get any bet quicker than this one. I see these six goals coming in short order, so we don’t need to waste too much of your time on this preview.
Nashville has hit at least six goals in six straight outings, and I don’t see why a meeting with the Anaheim Ducks would do anything to slow that down. I don’t know what you did last Saturday night, but the Nashville Predators were busy giving up seven goals to the Coyotes in front of these Ford Ice fans, so they deserve a better showing than that!
The Preds had just returned home from a five-game road trip only to get thumped on Saturday, but let’s not forget that the final score was 7-5 while 12 pucks found the nets. All Nashville did on their 5-game road trip gave up goals while losing four of their five affairs, and the Ducks should be able to take advantage of it.
Let’s not forget that the last time the Ducks hit the road, all they did was go 4-0, including wins over Boston and Pittsburgh, and they just easily flew by the Sharks on Sunday night, 4-1. At 2.35, the Ducks to Win this game Moneyline sure seems like a playable option to me, and imagine if you throw that into this combo?
Your eyes might fall out of your head if you add the Ducks Moneyline to tonight’s main tips I am offering tonight! I don’t see what the hell Nashville is doing so well that they deserve all of that juice, so you take that advice with you!
5-3 Ducks with an empty-netter to seal the road win, and we cash our total early in the third period when it hits 3-3.
DALLAS STARS VS ARIZONA COYOTES: TAKE FLIGHT AT AMERICAN AIRLINES CENTER
I am expecting plenty of goals from this game at American Airlines Arena because I just mentioned something a minute ago. The Coyotes are scoring goals like no one’s business when they are up a man this season, and they are ranked 5th in the NHL with a man advantage.
Dallas is the best team in the NHL while playing a man down, so the Stars will undoubtedly try to limit those opportunities knowing that a Coyote power-play can be dangerous. I don’t think we will need a bunch of power-play goals in this game because Dallas is going to score five times tonight.
Play the Dallas Team Total the second you see it because I see a 3.5 at 1.87 for the Over action tonight. I could tell you how I know they will score exactly 5 goals tonight but I can’t explain the feeling I am getting about it.
My gut just tells me that Dallas is going to have a ton of success on offense at home tonight, and the total is going to fly in with it. The Stars already have seven players sporting double-digit points, and that kind of team effort will go a long way, not just tonight but for the immediate future to come.
Expect a 5-4 game that sees plenty of exciting moments from the 9 pucks that find twine from this contest in the Lone Star State.
