NHL Hockey Friday Best Bets: Friday, March 31st
Our resident pucks expert Ej Garr is doing incredible things with his jaw-dropping hockey tips, as he has issued our readers a pair of bets at 2.66 and a 3.26 this week! It’s time to double the pleasure this Friday because Ej has two more best bets to wrap up the week with more value than you can shake a hockey stick at! Let’s lace ‘em up and take the ice!

First of all, you’re welcome! I have offered two bets this week thus far with odds of 2.66 and 3.26, and both of them flew in for us all to bang the hell out of our buck! Your ROI% is far and away making your bankroll boosted because the Mayor of Value City lives here.
Secondly, it’s time to keep up the pace and get more value out of Friday night hockey bets, and I am turning to the Red Wings for that with my first play today. William Hill and Bet365 are both showing 3.15 for a Red Wings win on the Moneyline, which means if it takes an overtime goal or it’s a shootout win, the cash will be in our pockets.
You know I am all about the value when it comes to getting bang for our buck, and the way the Jets look right now I cannot believe the line setters are showing them this much respect. Who in their right mind puts a 1.40 on the Jets to win this game with OT-Included?
If you like betting with that much juice attached to your action, you are in the wrong place my friend because Ej doesn’t make that noise. Winnipeg has looked lethargic on offense and since January 28th the Jets have been held to a clean sheet five times. It just happened again this past Tuesday against the Blues who are not even in the hunt for a playoff berth as are the Jets. Winnipeg is precariously hanging on to the 8-seed in the Western Conference, but Calgary and Nashville are right in their rear-view mirror.
Let’s not approach this as who needs to win this game or not, because we all know that Winnipeg has to win this game, or at least, get to overtime to secure any type of points at home. The line setters are giving us all the more reason to think they will fly into a brick wall and come up short, again.

I am not about to let a 3.15 just sit there with Detroit to upset the Jets tonight and sneak out of Canada Life Centre with the W. I can’t be the Mayor of Value City without breaking out these tasty lines, and I have been offering up these delicious offers all week.
- Selection: Detroit Red Wings Moneyline
- Best odds: 3.15 (William Hill)
- Stakes: 4/10

Le Flame is home at the Saddledome with the visiting Nuckleheads in town, and stop trying to auto-correct me, HA! I know it is quite literally spelled knuckleheads, that’s not a typo.
Anyway, how many goals do you think we’ll see here tonight? Well, I will bet you that we see at least 7 of them because I am not toying around with that 6.5 we are seeing in most books.
Pinnacle is showing 2.44 for the Over 7 with OT-Included, so if they do get stuck at 3 – 3 and need the extra frame to land the 7th goal, we just get our money back and live to bet another day. When that becomes wrong, I don’t want to be right! Being in a position to push/void our action with a 2.44 on the table is where the value is for me because even the 6.5 has a little juice/vig that I don’t want to pay for. I am seeing 1.87 and 1.89 for the 6.5 to go over, and that just doesn’t float my boat.
Jacob Markstrom and Thatcher Demko are the expected men in the net tonight, and four of the last five meetings between the two teams have seen no less than 7 goals in them. Jacob Markstrom has been so inconsistent this campaign, and his 2.94 GAA shows some of that story but there is so much more to that. As soon as you think his game is starting to go in the right direction he tends to get broken down again. It’s happened all year, as he wins a couple of games and then loses three more, wins a game or two, and loses two more.
The fact that Markstrom has won his last two starts tells me it is time for him to revert to the goaltender who can’t hold his concentration long enough to feed a baby. Beating San Jose and LA do nothing to convince me that he has anything settled, so we fade him expecting goals tonight.
Thatcher Demko just let 6 goals get past him against St. Louis in his last outing, and the Canucks are playing how they want to play even if it pisses off Rick Tocchet or not. Tocchet has pleaded to see more defense since his arrival on the Nucks bench, but this is an offensive team that can score first and defends later.

You can certainly just hand on to the Over 6.5 and pay the marginal juice/vig, but I am not settling for that. The Over 7 is just too nice and we have the room to chase a better line while still needing the 7 goals to be scored regardless of how they get there. Let it be 3 – 3 and push me away if they must, but I don’t think they’ll stop there and we have money to make!
- Selection: Over 7 Goals Ot-Included
- Best odds: 2.44 (Pinnacle)
- Stakes: 4/10
Odds as of 9:00 am March 31, 2023. Odds may now differ.
