NHL Hockey Friday Best Bets: Friday, February 10th

Our resident hockey expert Ej Garr is on fire this month, as he has dished out 7 bets in February and compiled a 6 – 1 record. We surely hope you enjoyed the pair of value bets he offered on Wednesday with odds of 2.50 and 2.38 because no one knows the NY Rangers as he does.

With only four games on the Friday schedule, Ej is covering the Rangers game again when they play host to Seattle at MSG. What magic will he produce to finish the week? You’ll just have to finish reading the article because that’s not the only game he is previewing today. It’s time to double the betting!

NY Rangers vs Seattle Kraken Preview

February 11, 00:05 (UK time)

The New York Rangers improved to 7 – 1 at home against Western Conference visitors to MSG on Wednesday, and they’ll have a chance to make it 8 eight wins when they host Seattle on Friday at the Garden.

First of all, you know I want to boast about my 2 – 0 on Wednesday, especially when the Mayor of Value City broke out a 2.50 and 2.38 double to enjoy. It must be nice knowing someone like me who watches every puck drop when the Rangers are on the ice.

Wednesday’s game was a good one to watch, and we got our 2 – 1 first-period result to cash our first ticket with about two and a half minutes to spare. Might I add that the wicked wrister from Vancouver’s Conor Garland to make it 2 – 1 was a gorgeous goal putting the puck where Momma hides the cookies! When I got excited that Vancouver scored, my wife heard me and was like, “What are you so happy about Mr. Rangers fan?”

Hmm hmm, it is just a 2.50 ticket that everyone cashed because I posted today, don’t mind me! HA!

Here we are back at MSG to host another Western Conference team that is struggling to score and will be on the back end of a back-to-back scenario. Seattle will be playing in New Jersey on Thursday before having to lace them up again on Friday at MSG, and the Rangers will show no remorse for their current situation. Seattle suffered a 3 – 1 loss to the Devils and they will now have to make the jaunt across the Hudson to face the Rangers tonight.

I was hoping the Rangers would pull away from Vancouver, but the Nucks gave the Blue Shirts quite a battle all night. Even though the Rangers had a lead the entire game, Vancouver made it 2 – 1 as I said in the first period, and a 1 – 1 second period still left the game in the balance. Neither team scored in the final frame until Mika Zibanejad redirected a slap shot from Rangers’ Captain Jacob Trouba with just over 4 minutes left in the game.

Vancouver didn’t disappear, however, as a poorly played puck off the wall from Igor Shesterkin led to a Vancouver goal just 11 seconds later. Shesterkin failed to play a bouncing puck on his right side and Elias Pettersson made him pay for tapping it by the Ranger netminder to make it 4 – 3.

I’d like to also be among the first people to welcome Vladi Tarasenko to the Blue Shirts roster. Late on Thursday night, Tarasenko and Niko Mikkola were traded from St. Louis to the Rangers for conditional 3rd-round and 4th-round draft picks, along with Sammy Blais and Hunter Skinner. As a Rangers fan, THANK YOU FOR THE 11-YEAR VET! That should add some fire to a Ranger offense that can use a boost on the power play.

NY Rangers vs Seattle Kraken Best Bet

The Rangers 1×2 Regulation time win has odds of 1.99 at 1xBet and most major bookmakers are showing the same. At just about even money odds I can handle playing the rangers at home to build on their success against Western Conference opponents at MSG.

Some more bad news came to the Kraken locker room on Thursday, as they announced that their leading point scorer, Andre Burakovsky, has been placed on the Injured Reserve list. Burakovsky left the Tuesday affair with a lower body injury and it looks like he’ll be gone for a spell which is not good news for Seattle.

  • Selection: NY Rangers 1×2 Regulation Time Win
  • Best odds: 1.99 (1xBet)
  • Stakes: 4/10

Anaheim Ducks vs Pittsburgh Penguins Preview

February 11, 03:00 (UK time)

You all know that I am not convinced that the Penguins are not a great hockey team, and I said as much in my future article you can find here on the site. I still can’t believe that the Penguins found 2 points against Colorado in their first game back from the break in that fashion.

For 56:21, the Penguins were on the verge of losing a 1 – 0 game to the Avalanche, and at the 3:38 mark Bryan Rust tied the game, 1 – 1. Kris Letang scored the overtime goal with the Penguins 38th shot of the night to earn Pittsburgh two points, and now they’ll hit the road for four straight games.

The road trip will start for the Penguins tonight, and it will bring them to LA and San Jose before wrapping it up in New York against the Islanders.

Kris Letang found only his fifth goal of the campaign after missing 17 games due to injury, and his return certainly gives Pittsburgh a reliable defenseman for the playoff push. One person who isn’t back yet is Tristan Jarry, although the netminder is only about a week or so away from getting back on the ice.

Corey DeSmith needed a big showing on Tuesday to prove the Penguins can win games with him between the pipes, and the 42 saves with only 1 goal allowed against Colorado was certainly a great effort. He will be tested again on Friday because the Ducks have come off the All-Star break playing inspired hockey.

There is no shame in losing a 3 – 2 shootout to Dallas, and the overtime win over Chicago has earned the Ducks 3 points since the league returned from Florida. It is undoubtedly tough to stare at the #32 ranking for the Ducks defense that gives up 4 goals a game, and their power play still needs to pick up the pace.

For me, this is going to be another close game that has the Ducks battling for another point, at least. I see the handicap offer of +1.5 in regulation time with odds of 1.93, and I don’t think the Penguins are going to walk all over them on the road.

Anaheim Ducks vs Pittsburgh Penguins Best Bet

The Ducks weren’t intimidated a bit against Dallas and I see no reason they should see this match any differently. We all know that the Crosby line has to be contained, and Malkin needs to be physically moved off of his game, and the Ducks can manage to do that. This will be a 3 – 2 game, and that will put the cash in our pockets.

  • Selection: Anaheim +1.5 Handicap in Full Time
  • Best odds: 1.93 (1xBet)
  • Stakes: 4/10

Odds as of 9:00 am February 10, 2023. Odds may now differ.
