As I usually do, I apologize for falling short with my Wednesday offer involving the Rangers, so I simply have to pick up the pieces and get back on the horse.
The last time Florida took the ice last Tuesday night, the Penguins dismantled them for 7 goals while the Panthers scored 6 of their own. The night before, the Panthers surrendered 6 goals to my Rangers which tells me that using the word defense and Florida in the same sentence could get you arrested in 13 countries, HA!
Now, as I was looking over the total for this game hoping to get a fair price on the 6.5, when I saw even money being offered I knew it was time to push the limits and go for a little more value. Unibet is showing 2.55 on the Over 7, although most bookmakers are closer to 2.40.
Here in the States among the bookmakers I use, I only see 2.38 as the best offer on the Over 7, but that still makes me smile enough to put it on my board.
Florida and the Kings played their first meeting back in November, and a 5 – 4 game resulted in 9 pucks finding the net. Hell, none of the last five Panthers’ games have seen less than 8 goals, so I am not reaching for the stars here. Should they get stuck at 3 – 3 needing overtime, the 7 will push the action and I can sleep at night with that.
While Florida and Pittsburgh were going bonkers on Tuesday, the Kings found themselves struggling with the Flyers albeit a 4 – 3 win. If the Flyers can have that much success against the Kings, I don’t even want to expect anything less than 7 goals to be scored tonight. The Kings; totals have gone over the number in 5 of their last 7 games,
Jonathan Quick and Sergei Bobrovsky are undoubtedly having down campaigns, each allowing more than 3 goals a night and then some. Quick is sporting a 3.34 goals-against average while his save percentage is dismal at.0.884. Bobrovsky is barely an improvement showing a 3.24 GAA and a 0.897 save percentage, so who do you trust to stop this total from crashing in on us?
Florida is heavily favoured on the Moneyline at home, but I have no interest in deciding who will win or lose this game. We just need to see a bundle of pucks in the back of the net, and I believe that is exactly what we’ll be getting.

A 4 – 4 game that goes to overtime is my call expecting a similar game to their first meeting in November., Let’s see if we can end the week on a high note with more value on the Over 7 rather than settle for any less.
