Florida Panthers vs Carolina Hurricanes Best Bet: Cats Eyeing Trip to Finals
Florida Panthers vs Carolina Hurricanes Best Bet: Wednesday, May 24th
The Panthers have their eyes on the finals as they carry a 3 – 0 series lead in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Hurricanes. History is certainly not on the Canes’ side because no team in the history of the NHL has made a 0 – 3 comeback in the conference finals. Can the Cats finish off the Canes can Carolina respond and take the series back to Carolina for Game 5? Our resident pucks expert Ej Garr has the answers so let’s take it to the ice!

Well, I predicted that Florida would win game 3 at home and they did just that, although the Canes couldn’t even muster up a single goal for us to cash the BTTS side of the offer I handed out on Monday.
As I said in my preview for the Dallas / Vegas game that is posted for Tuesday night, no team in the history of the NHL has ever made a 0 – 3 comeback in the conference finals. There have been four teams that accomplished the feat but none of them took place at this stage of the playoffs. Detroit blew a 3 games to love lead in the 1942 Finals to the Maple Leafs and the other three comebacks all happened in the opening round of the post-season.
Can Carolina change the course of history and climb their way back into this series or do the Panthers continue to cruise their way right into the Stanley Cup Finals?
It is my opinion that this series will end tonight and the Panthers will be the first team to claim a spot in the Finals, although the line setters are trying to leave the potential in the air. Depending on what bookmaker you are using, I am seeing -105 and -105 as the average odds for either team to win this game 4 in Florida tonight. The best odds I see for Florida to simply win this game with OT-Included comes from 1xBet, which is offering a 1.96 on the Cats at home. BetFair is showing odds of 1.95 toward a Carolina victory so we just need to pick our poison and drink from the right glass.
Aanti Raanta fell out of favour for Canes Coach Rod Brind’Amour, and Frederik Anderson did a great job lifting the club to a series win over New Jersey despite not playing but one game in the series against the Islanders. Anderson’s confidence is now in the tank so it will be interesting to see if Brind’Amour makes the move back to Raanta before they get knocked out of the playoffs.
If there is one goalie that has proven that he is going to be a difference-maker in the post-season, it is undoubtedly the play of Sergei Bobrovsky. The Cats’ netminder got off to a rough start in the post-season after losing his first two starts to Boston, but that seems like a lifetime ago at this point.
Bobrovsky has now won 10 of his last 11 starts and now he is on the brink of making his first Stanley Cup finals appearance with a hot team in front of him. I give the edge to Bobrovsky, and the Florida Panthers are about to sweep the Canes right out of the post-season!

Series OVER! Florida has taken out Boston and Toronto despite being given no chance to do so. Someone forgot to tell them that they don’t belong here, and now we can just take advantage of a confident team and goalie playing with brimming confidence.
