Carolina Hurricanes vs Philadelphia Flyers Best Bet: Happy Holidays to All
CAROLINA HURRICANES VS PHILADELPHIA FLYERS BEST BET: FRIDAY, DECEMBER 23rd
Happy Holidays to all no matter what you are celebrating, as this is the last NHL article you will see before Christmas Day. Our resident hockey pundit Ej Garr would like to wish all of our readers a safe and joyous Holiday Season.
Ej has found another plus-money offer on a play that will be cashed by the end of the first period. He tends to do that often, so let’s fill those stockings with cash cards and gift certificates after you put this banker in your pockets.

CAROLINA HURRICANES VS PHILADELPHIA FLYERS PREVIEW
December 24, 00:05 (UK time)
Good tidings and Happy Holidays to all as this will be the last NHL article posted before Christmas, and I want to fill your pockets with money, and we want it after only 20 minutes of action. It is time to offer another prop bet when the Carolina Hurricanes host the Flyers on Friday night.
I watched the Leafs / Flyers game on Thursday because it was an early game and the only one to take in starting the day. I was sitting here losing my mind wondering how the Flyers had a 1 – 0 lead with five minutes left in the period, and Philly had a total of 3 shots on goal. Toronto is the team with the next few days off, and the Flyers have a back-to-back and have to travel from Toronto to Carolina to play this game tonight.
Did you notice that Philly will be off until December 29, so they will have almost a week to regroup and see if they get any type of run together in 2023 to finish the campaign? With only 29 points, it will take quite a wild ride uphill to get there, and being a Rangers fan and all, well, my editors won’t let me curse so I can’t say what I want to, HA! To heck with the Flyers? Yeah, something like that! I am New Yorker, so you can use your imagination to guess what I want to say.
Anyway, after getting outshot 11 – 3 in the opening frame yesterday, the Flyers let that 1 – 0 lead slip away to a 2 – 1 deficit after two periods of play. Both teams scored twice in the final stanza giving Toronto the win, 4 – 3. The Flyers ended up with only 19 shots on goal, but they made them count by scoring three times, albeit another game without a point.
Meanwhile, I also watched the Canes and Pengs go into overtime last night, so it was easy for me to come to pick this game out. Carolina is in cruise control if there is such a thing. Carolina has won their last seven games and 11 of their last 12 outings, with an overtime loss to Anaheim as the only blemish during the run.
As we know, anything can happen, and we just saw it with my New Jersey fail the other day after they had lost six straight games. The Devils were playing terrible hockey at the time, but they still are among the best in the Conference and finally rebounded. After looking like poop for those six games, the Devils indeed woke up, and it cost me a play that I need to make up for now.
The Canes also have to travel to get here, and the weather in the area has been rubbish trying to get around, and it’s madness here in the States just getting around this time of year, to begin with. I expect both teams to arrive at the arena and be motivated to start well, as they both find the net in the opening frame.
Do you like that price, baby? Does that say 2.65 for Both Teams to Score in the first period at Unibet? Why yes, yes it does. Regardless of your bookmaker, you should be getting no less than 2.50 on the BTTS, from what I can tell. On top of that, we are taking this over 6 unless that juice/vig gets too high. If that offer goes above 1.83, just know that I expect plenty of goals after the 1 – 1 opening frame so I will leave that up to you.
Santa’s tip from the Mayor of Value City comes with good intentions, and again, I wish you all a great Holiday.
CAROLINA HURRICANES VS PHILADELPHIA FLYERS BEST BET
The Flyers will have almost a week off after this game, so they have no reason to leave anything in the tank to try to make something happen. I see both teams coming out motivated for different reasons, as obviously, the Canes don’t want anything to deter their momentum, especially getting a garbage Flyers squad at home. I expect plenty of goals to come from this affair, as I said. So, don’t forget to look for a decent line on the Over 6 total if you can find it too.
It will be 2 – 1 Carolina when 20 minutes expire, and that’s where all the value is in this spot.
- Selection: Both Teams to Score 1sr Period
- Best odds: 2.65 (Unibet)
- Stakes 4/10
Odds as of 9:00 am December 23, 2022. Odds may now differ.
