Buffalo Sabres vs Columbus Blue Jackets Best Bet: Tuesday, February 28th

The Buffalo Sabres are in quite a scoring groove lately, and our resident pucks expert Ej Garr is using that to his advantage on Tuesday night. With yet another plus-money offer to dish out, Ej has put up quite a record this month and is ending it with another tip full of value.

In this article:

Buffalo Sabres vs Columbus Blue Jackets Preview

March 1, 00:35 (UK time)

The Buffalo Sabres are fresh off a 7-goal performance against the Washington Capitals, and they are the only squad in all of the NHL with five 20-goal scorers. Outside of a loss to Toronto, the Sabres have found wins in five of their last six games, and goals have been the call to order.

The Sabres must feel like they are constantly moving because they have not played at the same venue over their last nine games. Finally getting two home games in succession, the Sabres will again hit the road for Boston on Thursday and then return home for two matches against Tampa Bay and Edmonton before hitting the road yet again. Buffalo will be playing 12 of their last 23 games after tonight away from home, so they’ll have to stay together and keep playing well if they want to stay in the hunt for the playoffs.

Buffalo is only one point behind the Pittsburgh Penguins for the 8-seed in the Eastern Conference table, and if you read my NHL future article, you know I expect the Penguins to miss out on the playoffs this year.

Dylan Cozens picked up the first hat trick of his career in the 7 – 4 win over Washington on Sunday, and he is one of those five 20-goal scorers for Buffalo this campaign. Cozens ironically scored his first goal in the NHL against Washington as well, so now he has another milestone to his credit. That game was on the NHL network, and I got to see that game in full with my own eyes. I still expect a little fine to come for Darcy Kuemper.

Kuemper slammed his goalie stick into the goalpost after allowing a fifth goal to the Buffalo, and he flung the remains right toward the benches. The fat part of his lumber flew uncontrollably, and he could have seriously hurt someone! He was removed from the game immediately, and things didn’t get any easier for Charlie Lindgren in relief of Kuemper.

The Sabres are simply playing so well together at the right time of the year, and I am convinced that they can take these two points tonight against the visiting Jackets on Tuesday.

The Jackets’ defense still ranks 30th in the NHL in both goals allowed and shots allowed, and the Sabres are the #2 team on offense that finds 3.8 goals a night coming off a game in that they threw 37 pucks at the net.

Remember the last time these two teams met? On December 7, the Sabres poured not 7, not 8, but NINE GOALS on the Jackets that night. I SAID NINE GOALS! My goodness, that is obnoxious as all hell, isn’t it?

Buffalo Sabres vs Columbus Blue Jackets Best Bet

The Sabres might do it again, and I am not about to let a 2.45 offer just sit there without my full attention. I have put plus-money action on the board just about all month, and I am kicking February in the teeth! I finish the month with this gem, and I will see you in March for more NHL betting previews. Thanks for any likes offered out there. I appreciate them more than you probably know!
