Anaheim Ducks vs NJ Devils Best Bet: Ducks Treading Water
Anaheim Ducks vs NJ Devils Best Bet: Friday, January 13th
The Anaheim Ducks will play host to the New Jersey Devils on Friday night, and our resident pucks pundit Ej Garr has quite the offer on the table. After a comfortable win on Wednesday, Ej is in the mood to deliver another tip with extreme value behind it, so let’s see what’s in the plans.

Dear John Gibson: Dude, you stink, man! I don’t know how much longer the Ducks are going to keep sending Gibson between the pipes to win a hockey game, but he is quite literally a sieve.
I am not toying around today with totals or side bets because I found the best bet to make so we can get paid in 20 minutes. Oh, and the odds are strongly in our favour!
Pinnacle sportsbook got me in the mood to offer the New Jersey Team Total of Over 1.5 Goals in the 1st-Period, which means the Devils have to score twice before 20 minutes expires. Did you take note of anything that happened on Wednesday around the NHL? Well, the Ducks hosted the Oilers as one of the four games played that night, and John Gibson proceeded to do his best interpretation of a goaltender.
Four goals later, the first period was enough to leave the Ducks with another loss right after Boston pounded out 7 goals on Anaheim the game before that. I don’t know where you live, but from my house when you give up 13 goals over the last two games, the issues go far beyond just goaltending.
The Devils are starting to get back on track after the run of poor results which cost them the lead in the Metropolitan Division standings. New Jersey has won 3 of their last 4 games, and after wiping out Carolina in their first away game of this 5-game road trip, only 2 points separate the two teams for the division lead.
This road trip will take the Devils to LA, San Jose, and Seattle before making their way back to back to New Jersey to play Pittsburgh on the 22nd. The trip has already started with a bang, and I believe that New Jersey can score twice in the opening frame even though the line setters say otherwise.
I am sorry, but the Mayor of Value City has other plans here, and with a 2.93 offer on just two goals being scored, we are all over it like white on rice. The Devils should easily be able to tally a pair of goals as long as John Gibson is between the pipes for the Ducks. Regardless if he goes or not, the Devils are starting to heat up again, and every point is going to become more crucial as the second half of the campaign begins.

There is no way I can start at 2.93 and not expect New Jersey to score twice in the opening stanza. I don’t think they will jump out to a 1 – 0 lead and not keep pressing against a team they have to gain 2 points against. If the Devils just beat Carolina to start this trip and then flop in Anaheim tonight, the rest of this road trip might get ugly.
Devils 3 – Ducks 1 at the end of the first period is my call, so enjoy all of that value on the board!
