Chris Gordon places his horses carefully and has a terrific strike rate as a result, and his unexposed 8-y-o is expected to make a winning chasing debut at Fontwell on Wednesday. He showed promise in just four runs over hurdles in 2021, and this opening mark underestimates his potential to improve granted a stiffer test of stamina over the larger obstacles (with fitness unlikely to be an issue after 663 days on the sidelines).

He has winning form on softish ground which will be a real plus after conditions eased dramatically in the past week, and he can overpower these rivals late up the Fontwell hill under regular rider Michael Nolan.
