He will relish the much better ground expected at Southwell on Tuesday under the excellent Jack Quinlan, and has already run a creditable race over this course and distance in March.

Charlie Longsden’s maiden hurdler made a promising start over fences when finishing fourth at Hereford on his seasonal reappearance (dropped out and not given a hard time after a few novicey mistakes), and is entitled to cone forward for that first run in eight months. He can improve past some more exposed rivals if ridden with more enterprise by Paul O’Brien, and the drop back slightly in trip on decent drying ground should suit ideally.
