Kitai
Pontefract 3:55 (UK time)
Charlie Johnston’s filly has been running herself into form this season, and duly improved on her third start to win a fair Carlisle handicap last time out (finding generously for pressure on soft ground). Her slightly higher mark now demands more, but this stiff course and distance suits ideally (won her only other race here as a juvenile by miles at 2/9f), and another positive ride from Joe Fanning should make her hard to beat.
Odds: NA
Today’s Value Angle
Celestial Flight
Pontefract 2:10 (UK time)
Ollie Pears juvenile landed quite a touch at York on just his second career start, and is fancied to keep on improving now pitched into a nursery from a fair looking opening mark. He is likely to relish the stiffer test at six furlongs (strong finder for pressure under an aggressive ride to win a very valuable seller last time), and Graham Lee will be looking to dominate against the favoured rail on the eased ground.
Odds: NA
Odds are best odds available as at 2am July 11th 2023. Odds may now differ.
