Tuesday's Horse Racing Tips: Epsom, April 23rd
Today’s Horse Racing Tips – April 23rd
There are six scheduled meetings in Britain and Ireland on Tuesday, with flat fans in for an informative afternoon. They have Epsom, Gowran Park, Wolverhampton (AW) and Yarmouth to study, with some decent handicaps to try to solve at the latter venue (and the top Newmarket yards sure to be well represented). Jumping fans have low grade action to study at Southwell and Tipperary, with the handicaps on drying spring ground looking especially competitive for the time of year at the Midlands track.

Andrew Balding’s horses are well forward as the turf season kicks up a gear, and his unexposed handicapper is fancied to make a winning seasonal reappearance at Epsom on Tuesday. He remains open to plenty more improvement as his stamina is drawn out over middle distances this summer, and the booking of Oisin Murphy certainly increases confidence that he will be primed after 193 days on the sidelines.

Karl Burke has some very exciting youngsters to go to war with this season, and his scopey colt created a good impression on his first two starts as a juvenile last term (soft ground a valid excuse on his final run at Newmarket when upped in class). He will appreciate this step up to 1m2f on rapidly quickening ground under Clifford Lee, and the yard has hit form with a couple of winners in the past fortnight.
