Thursday’s Horse Racing Tips: Taunton, December 14th
Today’s Horse Racing Tips – December 14th
There are five meetings in Britain and Ireland on Thursday, with NH fans in for a busy afternoon. They have Naas, Taunton and Warwick to get stuck into on testing ground, with some decent handicaps to solve at the Somerset venue in particular alongside a few potentially useful novices from the Paul Nicholls yard. AW action comes from Chelmsford and Newcastle, with the former card starting at 11.55am.

Taunton 2:05 (UK time)
Harry Derham is very much a young trainer to follow over the next few seasons, and his unexposed novice is expected to relish an increased stamina test at Taunton on Thursday. He was a winning hurdler at a fair level last season, and showed an aptitude for jumping when a creditable fourth in a warm contest at Sandown last month (tapped for pace but staying on steadily up the straight behind the subsequent Grade 1 winner Le Patron).

Robert Walford has his small team in typically excellent form at the moment, and his 8-y-o mare should relish this sharp right-handed track on improving ground. She looked a shade unfortunate not to spring a 16/1 shock last time out (in front soon enough and collared close home by Brooksie), and the booking of the excellent claimer Tabitha Worsley increases confidence that she can notch win number five over hurdles.
