Thursday's Horse Racing Tips: Pontefract, September 19th
Today’s Horse Racing Tips – September 19th
There are five meetings on Thursday in Britain and Ireland, with good quality competitive flat action from Ayr, Chelmsford (AW), Naas, Pontefract and Yarmouth to study on decent ground.
In this article:
Today’s Daily Nap
Kings Reign
Pontefract 3.03 (UK time)
Charlie Appleby would not be the most regular visitor up to Pontefract, and it looks significant that he brings his unexposed 3-y-o here on handicap debut. There should be plenty more to come after three career starts, and this stiff track over 1m4f should suit ideally (with his latest third to Shader at Southwell last time out well franked this week by the winner bolting up at Kempton under a penalty).
Odds: 5.50
Today’s Value Angle
Masque of Anarchy
Pontefract 3.33 (UK time)
Craig Lidster’s handicapper has been knocking loudly on the door in recent weeks, and has been found a terrific opening here under Harrison Shaw. He ran really well when third last time out under an inexperienced amateur, finding generously for limited assistance, and the Pontefract hill should bring his stamina for further into play in the closing stages.
Odds: 6.00
