Jack Channon’s progressive 2-y-o showed a tenacious attitude in deep ground to make a winning nursery debut at Chester in July, and ran a lot better than the bare result behind Shuwari last time out at listed level at Sandown at the end of Jult. He still has plenty of upside from a fair mark back into handicaps under regular rider Thore Hammer Hansen, and remains open to plenty more improvement after just five career starts (first two for Ollie Pears).

Simon and Ed Crisford’s progressive performer has been running to a consistent level in warm company over the last few months, and this stiffer test up in class over 1m4f at Goodwood on Thursday is expected to unlock further improvement. He shaped really well setting the pace in the Queens Vase at Royal Ascot in June, and an attacking front-running ride against the far rail round here is always a very good plan of attack.
