Sunday’s Horse Racing Tips: Carlisle, November 5th
Today’s Horse Racing Tips – November 5th
There are four meetings in Britain and Ireland on Sunday, with The Curragh and Lingfield (AW) providing some competitive action to keep bookmakers and punters on their toes. Jumps fans have two cards to get stuck into on very testing ground, with Carlisle and Cork both putting on varied fixtures with some fascinating runners from the top yards reappearing.

Jeannie Candlish’s 8-y-o ran really well last season on both occasions that he made it to the track, and seems sure to be primed to make a winning reappearance after 311 days off at Carlisle on Sunday. He is a sound jumper who is best dominating on soft ground over fences or hurdles, and has run with credit in better races on both previous runs at this track (notably when making all over the larger obstacles in 2020 in a useful novice chase).

Trelawne

Kim Bailey’s lightly raced hurdler has always been a chaser on looks, and he is fancied to make a winning debut in this sphere under David Bass after 232 days on the sidelines (with the yard now in top form after a quiet few months through the summer as usual). He revels in testing ground as illustrated by two impressive handicap hurdle wins last winter, and has plenty of size and scope about him to shoulder topweight in what is sure to be very attritional conditions.
