Today’s Racing Tips – September 2nd

Saturday’s ITV racing covers the best of the action from Beverley, Chester and Sandown, with drying ground likely around the country and some varied and competitive contests across all three tracks. The Group 3 Solario Stakes at 3.35pm is the best quality race from the Esher venue, with a high class field certain over the seven furlong specialist trip. Over in Yorkshire, the Beverley Bullet at 2.40pm is one of the most valuable races staged at the track over the whole season, and a useful field of sprinters is sure to be attracted for the excellent prize money on offer.

Richard Hannon’s smart 4-y-o filly has been running well in defeat all summer until bolting up at Haydock last time out, value for more there as she had to wait for a gap before quickening clear readily. She ideally needs a strong pace on decent ground, and regular rider Sean Levey will be looking to weave his way through late to land this valuable Group 3 prize.

2:05	Beverley	Dream Harder	Ian Williams exposed 4-y-o has won 5 of his 25 career starts to date, and has been running well in victory and defeat in relatively warm handicap company of late. He has optimum conditions at Beverley on Saturday, and his turn of foot will be a potent asset if this becomes tactical in a small field.
2:25	Sandown	Heredia	Richard Hannon’s smart 4-y-o filly has been running well in defeat all summer until bolting up at Haydock last time out, value for more there as she had to wait for a gap before quickening clear readily. 2:40	Beverley	Apollo One	This useful speedball comes into todays listed prize at the very top of his game after finishing a cracking second of 27 in the Stewards Cup last time out, and he is fancied to end a frustrating run of near-misses with Graham Lee taking over in the saddle.
3:00	Sandown	Lord Protector	Ralph Beckett has maintained a blistering strike rate over the last few weeks, and his useful handicapper showed this course and distance suited ideally when winning in July under todays rider Rossa Ryan. A lesser effort at Goodwood is easily excused on softer ground, and he can bounce back to his best back here with drying ground to suit.
3:20	Chester	Divine Jewel	Roger Varian’s useful filly did not handle deep conditions when disappointing sent over to France last time out, but she had run well previously at York and Leopardstown, and this listed prize should be well within her compass.
3:35	Sandown	Mortlake	Ralph Beckett’s scopey colt improved dramatically for his initial experience when routing the field from the front at Leicester last time out, and a similarly attacking ride from Rossa Ryan can see him handle a jump straight up into Group 3 company.
