BEAUTY NATION
Newmarket 1.15 (UK time)
George Boughey’s filly drops down in class at Newmarket on Saturday, and will not mind the easing underfoot after a very wet week of rain across the country. She has won 1 of her 3 career starts so far, and caught the eye on her handicap debut when seventh behind Ghost Run at Doncaster last time out (missing the break but finishing with running left in the tank over an extended six furlongs). The step up to 7f on softer ground could really suit, and the booking of Billy Loughnane is a definite positive.
Odds: 17.00

BLUE STORM
Haydock 3.15 (UK time)
Gemma Tutty’s progressive sprinter remains open to loads of improvement after eight career starts on the turf, and a repeat of his effort at the Royal meeting in June would be enough to land this competitive Haydock prize. There were excuses for a lesser effort on firm ground at Beverley last time out, and he can bounce back to his best here under Connor Beasley.
Odds: 11.00

She has won 1 of her 3 career starts so far, and caught the eye on her handicap debut when seventh behind Ghost Run at Doncaster last time out (missing the break but finishing with running left in the tank over an extended six furlongs). The step up to 7f on softer ground could really suit, and the booking of Billy Loughnane is a definite positive. |
1:30 | Haydock | DASHING DARCEY | Roger Varian’s 3-y-o handicapper comes here fresh after a break following a lesser effort on very firm ground at the Royal meeting in June, and he should relish this drop in grade with some give in the ground. |
1:50 | Newmarket | WIMBLEDON HAWKEYE | James Owen is very much a young trainer to follow over the next few years both on the flat and over jumps, and his progressive performer might offer better value here than rivals from the more established top yards in Britain and Ireland. |
2:25 | Newmarket | BABOUCHE | Ger Lyons filly has created a deep impression at the highest level this summer, and she is confidently expected to maintain her progress by landing this prestigious Group 1 prize. The form of the Irish juveniles looks a good deal stronger than their UK rivals, and Colin Keane can use her turn of foot at the business end. |
2:35 | Curragh | LAMBOURN | Aidan O’Brien’s fantastic season continues apace, and his progressive juvenile looks a very interesting runner upped to Group 2 class at the Curragh on Saturday. He impressed when winning a warm race last time out, and has the scope to do a lot better as his stamina is drawn out. |
3:00 | Newmarket | WHISTLEJACKET | Aidan O’Brien has another extremely strong hand in the juvenile division, and his battle hardened colt impressed when winning a valuable prize sent over to Deauville last time out. |
3:15 | Haydock | BLUE STORM | Gemma Tutty’s progressive sprinter remains open to loads of improvement after eight career starts on the turf, and a repeat of his effort at the Royal meeting in June would be enough to land this competitive Haydock prize. There were excuses for a lesser effort on firm ground at Beverley last time out, and he can bounce back to his best here under Connor Beasley. |
3:40 | Newmarket | RON O | Ray Craggs useful performer has been a real moneyspinner all summer for his small yard, and seems sure to give his running again with conditions to suit. The booking of the excellent Rossa Ryan increases confidence, with a strong pace on to bring his proven stamina for further into play in the closing stages. |
