Saturday’s Horse Racing Tips: Haydock, Beverley June 10th

Today’s Racing Tips – June 10th
There are six races covered live on ITV on Saturday, with Haydock and Beverley staging competitive and varied action on ground that is sure to on the faster side of good (with watering taking place throughout the week). The Yorkshire venue stage their big meeting of the summer, with the Hilary Needler (2.05pm) and the Bet365 2-y-o Trophy (3.15pm) sure to attract runners up from the top southern yards for the excellent prize money on offer. There is Group 3 action at Haydock, with the 7f John O’Gaunt Stakes at 3.35pm certain to attract a small but select field.

All the Kings Men
Haydock 1:50 (UK time)
George Boughey’s consistent performer shaped really well at Epsom last time out over a mile, racing freely under restraint in a poor early position and doing well to take a closing third inside the final furlong. He has plenty of pace to cope with a drop back to six furlongs at Haydock on Saturday, and the booking of Ryan Moore certainly increases confidence with fast ground conditions ideal.
Odds: NA
Today’s Value Angle
Kolsai
Beverley 2:05 (UK time)
Richard Fahey has an extremely strong hand in the juvenile division this summer, and his 2-y-o went straight into the notebook as one to follow when making a very promising debut at Newmarket in May behind Soprano. She saw no daylight at all there under a patient ride, running on strongly for just hand riding inside the final furlong, and seems sure to leave that bare form well behind with the experience under her belt.
Odds: NA
Odds are best odds available as at 9am June 9th 2023. Odds may now differ.
ITV Racing Tips – Saturday June 10th
Time (UK) | Track | Horse | Analysis |
---|---|---|---|
1:50 | Haydock | All the Kings Men | George Boughey’s consistent performer shaped really well at Epsom last time out over a mile, racing freely under restraint in a poor early position and doing well to take a closing third inside the final furlong. He has plenty of pace to cope with a drop back to six furlongs at Haydock on Saturday, and the booking of Ryan Moore certainly increases confidence with fast ground conditions ideal. |
2:05 | Beverley | Midnight Affair | Richard Fahey has an extremely strong hand in the juvenile division this summer, and his 2-y-o went straight into the notebook as one to follow when making a very promising debut at Newmarket in May behind Soprano. She saw no daylight at all there under a patient ride, running on strongly for just hand riding inside the final furlong, and seems sure to leave that bare form well behind with the experience under her belt. |
2:25 | Haydock | Cumulonimbus | Charlie Fellowes handicapper is best dominating things from the front, tactics that are never a bad plan at this track on quick ground, and he comes into this Class 2 in career best form after winning in style at Hamilton last month. |
2:40 | Beverley | Satin Snake | Adrian Keatley’s handicapper has been running himself into peak form in recent weeks, shaping particularly well when sixth on the all-weather at Kempton last time out, and this stiffer track on fast ground should suit ideally (with Cieran Fallon an eyecatching booking for these astute connections). |
3:15 | Beverley | Fusterlandia | Richard Hannon’s juveniles always improve dramatically from their initial run, and this strapping colt shaped really well when finishing second at Leicester first time out. He pulled over four lengths clear of the remainder when second to Golden Mind there, and looks well worth his place in this valuable prize under the excellent Kevin Stott. |
3:35 | Haydock | The Wizard of Eye | Stan Moore’s useful performer has had excuses in warm company since making a promising reappearance at Newcastle in April, and he will appreciate a positive ride from the front on this much more suitable fast surface. He has won just 2 of his 17 starts so far, but a lofty handicap rating makes him very hard to place, and this valuable Group 3 prize over seven furlongs appeals as a very good opportunity under Kieron Shoemark. |
