Clive Cox’s smart sprinter has been running well in defeat in warm company all season, and this valuable listed prize looks a terrific opening on the back of a cracking run at the Royal meeting in the Palace of Holyrood House handicap. He caught the eye last time out sent off 11/1 in that 26 runner race, and has plenty of pace to aim at late here under Jason Hart over the ideal five furlong trip.

2:00	York	Diamondonthehill	Michael Dods has his team in terrific form at the moment, and his battle-hardened handicapper has gradually returned to peak form this summer (with a narrow Yarmouth win last time out meaning he has only been inched up a few pounds).
2:20	Ascot	Angel Bleu	Ralph Beckett’s classy performer has won 6 of his 15 career starts, and will find this a good deal easier than the Group 1 Queen Anne at the Royal meeting last time out (ran a lot better than his 50/1 price tag suggested).

3:10	York	Majestic	Jack Channon’s consistent sort has been knocking on the door without delivering all season, but he caught the eye under a negative ride at Sandown from miles off the pace last time out and could now be poised to strike.
3:25	Newmarket	Great Truth	Charlie Appleby now has his team back in top form, and his scopey 2-y-o looked a high class prospect when routing the field on his debut at Leicester last month (sent off a well backed 8/11f and sprinted clear by over five lengths despite some signs of inexperience initially).
3:45	York	Tashkhan	Brian Ellison’s stayer has only won 3 of his 19 career starts over a variety of trips, but he has been highly tried this season so far and should relish these slightly calmer waters at York on Saturday.
4:00	Newmarket	Biggles	Ralph Beckett’s handicapper ended up on the wrong part of the track as things developed in the Buckingham Palace at Royal Ascot, and he had been hinting previously that he was coming nicely to the boil from a lenient mark.
4:35	Newmarket	Kinross	This useful sprinter lost a shoe before his seasonal reappearance at Royal Ascot, and in the circumstances did well to finish seventh behind Khaadem (weakening out of the places inside the final furlong). He should strip a bit fitter for that first run in seven months, and the yard is currently in blistering form with seven winners in the last fortnight.
4:55	York	Robert Johnson	This prolific 5-y-o has been running really well in victory and defeat all season over these stamina sapping trips, and he seems sure to give his running again with conditions to suit under regular rider Connor Beasley.
