There are three meetings in Britain and Ireland on Monday, with AW fans in for a busy evening at Chelmsford (where low grade handicaps set a difficult challenge for form students). Ayr stage a competitive jumps meeting providing they can beat the recent freezing weather in Scotland, with some big fields on testing ground assured. Lingfield hold the other NH fixture on very heavy ground, with an AW bumper to start proceedings at 12.35pm.

Alan King’s unexposed novice showed plenty of promise in two of his three starts over hurdles last season, catching the eye behind Tapley on his last run at Plumpton (form well franked by the winner this winter). He now goes into handicaps from an attractive mark at Lingfield on Monday, and seems sure to be fully fit with the yard now hitting top form after a relatively quiet start to the season.
