Monday's Horse Racing Tips: Epsom, August 26th
Today’s Horse Racing Tips – August 26th
There are seven meetings in Britain and Ireland on a typically hectic Bank Holiday Monday, with fans of the turf in for a busy afternoon. They have competitive action to study at Chepstow, Epsom, Ripon and Southwell, with decent fields and decent ground expected in front of family crowds. Jumps fans will flock to Cartmel in Cumbria, where all the usually suspects are running and Jimmy Moffatt is the trainer to follow, while in Ireland there will be big crowds at Ballinrobe and Downpatrick.

Celtic Warrior
Epsom 3.17 (UK time)
Andrew Balding continues in brilliant form with ten winners in the last fortnight, and his handicapper looks a very interesting runner dropping down in class under Oisin Murphy. He is now very well treated on the pick of his placed form in the last year, and there have been valid excuses on a couple of occasions so far this summer (eyecatcher at Goodwood last time when fourth in stronger company).

Jim Boyle’s battle hardened handicapper has been largely running well in defeat all summer in fair company (outclassed at Royal Ascot last time out), and has optimum conditions to win again at Epsom on Bank Holiday Monday. Benoit de la Sayette is booked for the ride, and he will be looking to weave his way through late off what could be a strong early gallop.
