Monday’s Horse Racing Tips: Cheltenham, January 1st
Today’s Horse Racing Tips – January 1st
There are eight meetings on New Years Day in Britain and Ireland on a really busy afternoon on very soft ground, with the highlight coming over jumps as a huge crowd is sure to head to Cheltenham for their traditional fixture to start 2024 off with a bang. Elsewhere, there are NH meetings at Catterick, Exeter, Fairyhouse, Musselburgh, Southwell and Tramore, while AW fans have some tough handicaps to solve at Newcastle.

Cloudy Glen
Cheltenham 1:30 (UK time)
Venetia Williams continues in blistering form, and her veteran 11-y-o is strongly fancied to make all the running at Cheltenham on Monday under the red-hot Charlie Deutsch. He looked as good as ever when finishing a cracking second on his seasonal reappearance here in November under a positive ride (went with zest from the front), and shaped well under more patient tactics last time out.
Odds: NA
Today’s Value Angle
Shake’em Up Harry
Cheltenham 2:05 (UK time)
Ben Pauling’s strapping chaser is extremely well handicapped on the pick of his form in the last couple of years, and he shaped last time out as though on his way back to his very best. He is a sound jumping front-runner who is best dominating from the tape, and the testing ground expected (after a wet week) should suit ideally under Kielan Woods.
Odds: NA
Odds are best odds available as at 2am January 1st 2023. Odds may now differ.
