His 5-y-o handicapper has been a model of consistency in recent months, and looked ready for this step up to mile when finishing strongly into fourth at Newmarket last time out over 7f.

This unexposed stayer looked very much one to follow up the grades when winning at Doncaster in August (strong at the finish over 1m2f), and he had excuses when a disappointing on handicap debut last time out (hampered in the run and ultimately found the trip inadequate on testing ground). He remains with upside after just six career starts, and can improve past these rivals at York on Friday under Jason Watson.
