There are five meetings in Britain and Ireland on Friday, with NH fans in for a busy afternoon. They have Naas, Sedgefield and Wincanton to get stuck into on drying easy ground, with some decent handicaps to solve at the Somerset venue in particular (alongside a few expensive young novices from the local Paul Nicholls yard). AW fans have low grade action under floodlights to study, with Dundalk and Wolverhampton putting on a competitive cards starting at 4.10pm.

Anthony Honeyball has his team in excellent form at the moment, and his progressive 8-y-o handicapper has optimum conditions to strike again under Ben Godfrey at Wincanton on Friday. He has thrived over hurdles this winter in testing ground, proving his stamina at upto three miles in strong company in the south, and seems sure to be extensively schooled ahead of this chasing debut given his excellent connections (plenty of size and scope to take to this sphere).

Jane Williams runners have tended to need a run or two this winter to reach full fitness, and her promising novice looks on an attractive opening handicap mark for his debut in this sphere. He caught the eye under a negative ride at Worcester in October behind the very useful Kamsinas (winner since), and a strongly run two miles on improving easy ground should suit ideally under regular stable rider David Noonan.
