Today’s Daily Nap
Glenfinnan
Ascot 4:10 (UK time)
Andrew Balding’s scopey 3-y-o has had a slightly disappointing season so far, but recent signs over a mile have been more encouraging and he has been found a very good opportunity at Ascot on Friday. He remains open to some improvement after only six career starts, and comes into this Classified Stakes with Oisin Murphy taking over in the saddle (and faster ground back to seven furlongs expected to suit).
Odds: NA
Today’s Value Angle
Shaladar
Ascot 3:35 (UK time)
Kevin Ryan’s 4-y-o has been beaten in two tight photo-finishes at Leicester and Redcar on his last two visits to the track, looking particularly unlucky last time out when briefly checked in his run before flying home. He now has the assistance of the excellent lady amateur Olive Nicholls, and a strong pace on drying ground (over this mile trip) would be his optimum conditions.
Odds: NA
Odds are best odds available as at 2am September 8th 2023. Odds may now differ.
