Swansea vs Ipswich: Can they keep up with the Tractor Boys?

England, Championship, February 17th, 15:00 (UK)

If there’s one thing we can take from Luke Williams’ body of work at Notts County, it’s that his teams will score goals. They will create goalscoring opportunities regardless of the opposition – well, maybe not Leeds United – and with that, they’re susceptible at the back – the perfect recipe for an Over 2.75 Goals bet.

In the two Swansea Home games under Luke Williams in the Championship before that 0-4 Leeds battering on Tuesday where they couldn’t match the visitors’ intensity:

2.41xG vs Southampton (1-3) – 15 shots

2.77xG vs Plymouth Argyle (0-1) – 20 shots

I think Swansea are going to have a go here after that Hull win, two recent home games where they’ve had a fair share of chances but have unluckily come away with zero points, and the need to bounce back with some kind of response following the Leeds loss.

That approach against Ipswich might see them picked off here and there in transition and on the counter like they were against Leeds, but it equally should encourage a steady number of goalscoring opportunities in the game.

We just need either side to take at least three of said chances for a profit. And, if Ipswich does run away with proceedings, we have 3-0, 3-1, and 4-0 scorelines on our side too.

Cusco vs Real Garcilaso: A misprice due to shared stadium

Peru, Peru Liga 1, February 17th, 23:00 (UK)

I’m sticking in South America after success last time out, but a trip north to Peru is in order after, once again, the bookmakers have made a poor mistake.

Both Cusco and Real Garcilaso ground share at Estadio Inca Garcilaso de la Vega – the clue really is in the name – yet this has been priced as a home and away match.

Garcliso has endured a poor start to the campaign, losing all three matches without scoring. Losing their top goalscorer, Santiago Giordana has cost them dearly, it seems.

Well, not exactly. In all three matches, Garcilaso has had a man sent off. So, while there are risks attached to the bet, they have performed rather well when it’s been XI vs XI.

They’ve brought in two strikers capable at this level and beat Cusco last season. In fact, both games finished 2-1, which bodes well for a goalscoring bet.

Cusco has collected four points but has also conceded five goals in three matches. Sadly BTTS – Yes and over 2.5 have shortened from when the market opened, but priced the same, I’ll gladly take a swing on them both finding the back of the net.

Fingers crossed for no further red cards for Garcilaso.

Napoli vs Genoa: Victor is back (late) in town

Italy, Serie A, February 17th, 14:00 (UK)

After their eighth Serie A defeat, Napoli are now closer to the bottom three than the top of Serie A’s table.

Last year’s champions continued to look without a precise game plan and showed only a late reaction on Sunday at San Siro against AC Milan. It was not enough to earn a point, despite Mike Maignan being saved by the woodwork towards the end of the game.

Napoli’s best player, Victor Osimhen, who missed the last six games, will be back in Italy only on Friday, and it’s unlikely he’ll play from the start against Genoa.

His teammates haven’t scored in seven of their last ten matches and desperately need his help. The last time the Nigerian striker featured with the club, he got sent off at the Olimpico in their 2-0 defeat to Roma, and so far, he’s only scored eight times.

The Azzurri’s home form has been patchy, with only three clean sheets in 14 games in all competitions, and Genoa, who held Napoli to a 2-2 draw back in September, are often a tough nut to crack for Italy’s top sides.

Il Grifone are unbeaten in four away matches and have scored in six of the last seven on the road. Fourteen out of their 24 games (58%) have ended with both teams on the scoresheet.

  • Expert: Daniele Fisichella
  • Selection: Genoa Asian Handicap +1
  • Best Odds: 1.72
  • Bookmaker: William Hill
  • Stake: 7/10 (TRACKED BET)
