Stuttgart vs Frankfurt Prediction: Team News and Lineups Preview
Two sides with aspirations of finishing in the Bundesliga European qualification places collide this Saturday, and with that Jack Wright is on hand with a Stuttgart vs Frankfurt prediction, team news, lineups and fixtures preview.
After last weekend’s results, Stuttgart have drawn level with second-placed Bayern Munich, while improving their cushion to fourth to an imposing seven points. Champions League qualification looks all but assured. Eintracht Frankfurt salvaged what could be a vital point in their quest to claim a Europa Conference League spot, and currently hold a six-point advantage to a chasing pack of three clubs.

Stuttgart vs Frankfurt Prediction 1: Sebastian to harness the full potential of his side
Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, April 13th, 17:30 (UK)
Stuttgart are hot on the heels of second-placed Bayern Munich after a superb win in Dortmund last weekend brought VfB level on points with the Bavarians. It was that man Serhou Guirassy again, with his 24th league goal of the season who secured the 1-0 success at Signal Iduna Park.
In doing so the high-flying Swabians extended their unbeaten league run to ten Bundesliga games with an eighth win over that period of time. They now enjoy a healthy seven point cushion to fourth place with just six games remaining.
Sixth placed Frankfurt have now won just two of their previous nine league matches. They needed a 77th-minute equaliser from Tuta, who was later sent off, to salvage a point from their game at home to an equally out of form Werder Bremen last weekend.
Confidence will be high amongst those of a Stuttgart persuasion having won 12 of their 16 fixtures at MHPArena this season. Only Bayern have scored more than their 40 league goals on home soil where they have produced an average supremacy of 1.86 across the campaign.
Stuttgart remain the only side to have won at Deutsche Bank Park in the league this term with a first half Deniz Undav brace enough to take the three points back in November. That firepower is the reason I am happy taking the home side on a -1 Asian Handicap.
- Stuttgart vs Frankfurt Prediction 1: Stuttgart -1 Asian Handicap (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 1.89

- Stake: 7/10
Stuttgart vs Frankfurt Prediction 2: Let’s be Frank – this fixture promises goals.
As has been the norm for much of the season in Germany this match looks destined for goals galore. The Bundesliga is averaging 3.19 goals per game, with 62% of fixtures across the campaign seeing over 2.5 goals land.
Stuttgart saw an evenly shared six goals in their last outing at MHPArena when Heidenheim were the visitors. The 10th home game of 14 this season that has clicked for over 2.5 goals backers with a league high eight seeing at least one more strike.
Last time out on the road Frankfurt were beaten 3-1 by Dortmund. A fourth away game in five which crossed over 2.5 goals with three of those seeing the back of the net hit on at least four occasions.
This feels like a free swing to some degree for both sides. With the buffer they have to the sides below them a point is of little advantage whereas three could prove decisive.
The 3.0 Goal Line is attractive here, meaning we receive a full refund should there be exactly three goals. But four or more locks in a very nice return at a price I think is generous given the firepower on display.
- Stuttgart vs Frankfurt Prediction 2: Over 3.0 Asian Goal Line
- Best Odds: 1.95
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 6/10
Stuttgart vs Frankfurt Prediction 3: Robin the bookies with a tasty shots double
My final selection is a two-legged Bet Builder in a market I really like. Player shots is where I am heading and taking a player from each side to have at least one attempt at goal.
From Stuttgart I have avoided the obvious contenders and chosen Maximilian Mittelstadt. The 27-year-old left-back has had ten shots in his last nine starts, and although he failed to register an attempt in Dortmund, his home form really catches the eye – eleven shots from his eight starts on home soil with at least one in each of those fixtures. In a game that should be open, expect to see the German playing very advanced once more.
Robin Koch is my selection from the visitors after the 27-year-old had a season high six attempts at goal in the draw with Werder Bremen. That made it 15 shots in total from his last eight appearances across all competitions with at least one in seven of those.
Although both of these players are defenders, there should be plenty of opportunity for at least one attempt at goal each, plus a high likelihood of them seeing out the full 90 minutes.
- Stuttgart vs Frankfurt Prediction 3: Maximilian Mittelstadt & Robin Koch Both Over 0.5 Shots (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 2.50
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 10/10

Stuttgart vs Frankfurt Team News and Possible Lineups: Prolific strikers fit and ready for shootout.
Josha Vagnoman was unable to reemerge for the second half of Stuttgart’s win in Dortmund last week. Medical examinations have revealed a metatarsal injury, which will keep him out for the next few games. Swiss defender Leonidas Stergiou was his half-time replacement and should get the nod to start here. Central defender Waldemar Anton is available following suspension and is expected to return to the starting lineup at the expense of Angelo Stiller.
Tuta will be absent for the visitors after his late red card against Werder Bremen. With head coach Dino Toppmöller admitting his side did not play well in that fixture we may see him shuffle his pack for this testing trip.
Stuttgart possible starting lineup:
Nübel – Stergiou, Anton, Ito, Mittelstädt – Millot, Karazor, Stiller, Führich – Undav, Guirassy
Frankfurt possible starting lineup:
Trapp – Collins, Koch, Pacho – Buta, Larsson, Götze, Max – Knauff, Chaïbi – Marmoush
