Sevilla vs Real Sociedad Tip 1: Untrusting Sevilla

Spain, La Liga, Saturday, February 2nd, 13:00 (UK)

I’m not sure about Sevilla. They’re a side who don’t feel you with any confidence. Quique Sanchez Flores has taken charge of ten La Liga matches in his tenure. Sevilla has a (3-2-5 WDL) record in that time. The side sat in 15th and has scored just ten league goals in as many games. Youssef En-Nesyri is their only real goal threat.

Real Sociedad are a team that never gets swept aside. La Real have lost six games this term, with just one coming by a two-goal margin. Imanol Alguacil’s men have scored in 19 of their 26 games this term, which includes ten of 13 away from home.

Sevilla have played four home matches under their new boss. An impressive Athletic Club were the only side to prevent them from finding the back of the net. Despite recording just four shots against Real Madrid, Sevilla racked up 0.90Xg and missed two big chances.

The goal line is set relatively low. We need two or more goals to avoid losing this selection. I believe Sevilla will take advantage of Real Sociedad’s important schedule. They should come out with a positive approach. I still can’t trust them defensively, which makes the proposed selection appealing.

  • Sevilla vs Real Sociedad Tip 1: Over 2.0 Goals (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 2.00
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 5/10

Sevilla vs Real Sociedad Tip 2: The Star Players

I have looked at the Player Shots market for my second selection. Two players stand out in this clash. One being Sevilla’s star man, Youssef En-Nesyri, and Real Sociedad’s exciting Japanese international, Takefusa Kubo, are both part of this selection.

If Sevilla does anything in offensive areas, their Moroccan star should expect to be involved. Youssef En-Nesyri has scored seven goals this season. Sevilla’s number 15 has started all four matches since returning from AFCON. The 188cm striker is one of the first names on Quique Sanchez Flores’ team sheet.

En-Nesyri has averaged 2.50 shots per 90 in 23/24. The Moroccan has recorded multiple shots in 11 of his 16 starts. His home record is impressive. The forward has managed two or more shots in eight starts from nine, with just a single effort arriving against Real Madrid.

Takefusa Kubo has featured 21 times in La Liga this term. Kubo started on 19 occasions. The Japanese attacker averaged 2.29 shots per 90. The 22-year-old attempted two or more strikes in 15 separate starts for his club, which includes eight of the last nine outings.

Kubo managed four shots in each of his three matches against Sevilla. En-Nesyri had three shots when the sides met in November.

  • Sevilla vs Real Sociedad Tip 2: Youssef En-Nesyri & Takefusa Kubo Over 1.5 Shots (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.80
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 5/10

Sevilla vs Real Sociedad Tip 3: Cards Galore

Kike Salas has returned to the team after a few weeks out with an injury. With Sevilla’s lengthy absentee list, I expect Salas to start once again here. The youngster will play on the left side of the defence. He will most likely have the unwanted task of facing Takefusa Kubo.

Sevilla’s man is a regular when it comes to committing fouls. Salas has been penalised in eight of his nine starts for the club. He also made fouls in both Champions League appearances towards the end of 2023.

Salas has picked up a yellow card three times this term. He’s averaging 0.37 cards per 90. A tricky customer like Kubo will prove a tough test for the inexperienced 21-year-old.

Igor Zubeldia is a man who loves to get involved. The Real Sociedad central defender has started 23 of 24 La Liga matches this campaign. He’s made a foul in 17 of 24 appearances, which includes two in the reverse meeting.

It’s a clean sweep for the Spaniard in the Champions League. He’s made 14 fouls in seven matches, with at least one in all.

Zubeldia has been booked nine times in the league this season at an average of 0.41 per 90. He’ll be up against a physical En-Nesyri who has a superb leap.

Sevilla and Real Sociedad are ranked 3rd and 7th for yellow cards in La Liga. Let’s hope for a rough battle at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

  • Sevilla vs Real Sociedad Tip 3: Kike Salas & Igor Zubeldia To Recieve A Card (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: Awaiting Odds
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 1/10

Sevilla vs Real Sociedad Tip 4: Distracted visitors to fall short

Spain, La Liga, Saturday, March 2nd, 13:00 (UK)

Sevilla’s four-match unbeaten streak unsurprisingly came to an end against Real Madrid on Sunday evening.

Wins over Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano are two recent results that will have pleased their fanbase, in particular the former, which was their first win at home since their 5-1 demolition job over Almeria back in September 2023.

However, aside from the Real Madrid defeat, there’s been a feel-good factor around Sevilla, who have lifted themselves six points clear from the relegation zone.

There’s simply too much talent to think about Sevilla being relegated, and the stronger they can finish the campaign, the better for all involved. They still lack in the goalscoring department, but by shutting up shop at the back, it’s made their lives a lot easier when it comes to collecting points.

Real Sociedad have bigger fish to fry. They have a two-goal deficit to overturn three days after this fixture at home to PSG, who were rather unimpressive in their last-gasp draw vs Rennes. The Spanish club will fancy their chances on the night, and therefore, we may see a few rotations in their match with Sevilla.

When these two met back in November, Real Sociedad narrowly won 2-1, thanks to an early own goal from Marko Dmitrovic, who has been dropped as Sevilla’s number one.
The hosts have a platform to build on now, and perhaps this is the ideal fixture to get back on track.

  • Sevilla vs Real Sociedad Tip 4: Match Result – Draw

  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stakes: 6/10

Sevilla vs Real Sociedad Team News and Possible Lineups: Sevilla’s Struggles Continue

The Sevilla injury list is still considerably long. The likes of Lukebakio, Acuna, Diaz and Gudelj are doubtful. Marcao, Agoume, Jordan and Lamela will not be expected to feature here on Sunday afternoon.

Lucas Ocampos and Djibril Sow are suspended for this encounter after picking up bookings against Real Madrid.

Real Sociedad have a handful of potential absentees. Oyarzabal is the main doubt due to a muscle injury.

Odriozola, Elustondo, Fernandez and Merquelanz will not be expected to return.

Sevilla possible starting lineup:
Nyland; Navas, Bade, Ramos, Salas ,Acuna, Torres, Soumare, Suso, Romero; En-Nesyri

Real Sociedad possible starting lineup:
Remiro, Traore, Zubeldia, Le Normand, Galan, Mendez, Zubimendi, Merini, Kubo, Silva; Becker
