Xavi’s future at the club has been the subject of much speculation since he announced he would leave the club in the summer back in January. Sevilla vs Barcelona Prediction 3: Lewandowksi is Still the Main Man

Robert Lewandowski has undoubtedly slowed down this season. The 35-year-old striker has netted 18 league goals, which makes him the club’s top scorer but he hasn’t reached the levels set in yesteryear.  Nevertheless, he has ruled out leaving Barcelona this summer and he is proving to be a valuable asset in recent weeks.

The Polish striker scored in his team’s 3-0 win over Rayo Vallecano last weekend. The goal meant he has now scored five goals in his last five La Liga matches. He is the fourth top sorcerer in the top tier of Spanish football; only Bellingham, Dovbyk, and Sorloth have found the net with more regularity than the former Bayern Munich man. Lewandowski has also registered eight assists in the league, but it is his goals we are focusing on here. 

Lewandowski found the net in Barcelona’s 3-0 win at this stadium last season. His underlying stats also suggest he has been reasonably clinical in front of goal. He is performing in line with his non-penalty xG of 14.48 for the season.

Sevilla will be without at least seven players for this match. Suso and Lamela will return to full fitness in time for pre-season. There are no return dates set for Sow, Gudelj, Torres or Romero. Lulo Dasilva’s ruptured cruciate ligament will keep him out until at least December.
