Scott Thornton is back with six props bets for this week’s Premier League action after landing 5/6 in the FA Cup last weekend.

The first bet comes in the early kick-off as Manchester City take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. At 15:00 on Saturday, we have Brighton vs Fulham before Brentford host Aston Villa in the evening. Wolves go toe-to-toe with Everton in a Saturday night fixture. On Sunday, we have Tottenham vs Bournemouth before Arsenal face Manchester United.

Acca odds: 33.59

Nottingham Forest vs Manchester City: Nuno’s Approach Will Lower the Throw Count

England, Premier League, Saturday, 8th March, 12:30 (UK)

Nottingham Forest are a point ahead of Manchester City and sit in 3rd place ahead of the weekend, but defeat could see them drop out of the top four. It’s been a marvellous season for Nuno Espirito Santo’s men thus far but just one win in their last five league outings means there is work to be done.

Manchester City rolled the dice by spending big in the January transfer window. They have improved in recent weeks despite exiting the Champions League. Pep Guradiola will want to ensure his team are playing in Europe’s elite club competition next season. A win over Forest would be a huge step towards doing that.

Nuno’s men average just 40% possession, the lowest in the Premier League. They take on a Manchester City team that looks to dominate the ball. Forest’s willingness to sit deep should mean the visitors have long periods of possession, leading to a lower throw count. There were just 25 throws in Forest’s last home game, which was against Arsenal.

City’s Premier League matches have seen an average of 29.07 throws. There were 30 throws when they faced Forest earlier in the season but they have improved since then, thanks to the calming presence of Nico Gonzalez in the midfield. Therefore, we are backing under 30.5 throws here.

  • Selection: Under 30.5 Throws In The Match (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.72
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Brighton vs Fulham: The Cottagers Can Trouble the Seagulls

England, Premier League, Saturday, 8th March, 15:00 (UK)

Brighton have been on a superb run since their 7-0 drubbing at the City Ground at the start of February. Since then, they have won all three of their league matches and made it to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. The Seagulls are now just four points behind Manchester City and have their sights set on a European place.

Fulham are hot on Brighton’s heels. Like their opponents, the Cottagers also have European aspirations. They come into this game full of confidence after beating Manchester United via a penalty shootout in the cup. Marco Silva’s side have also lost just one of their last 11 away games across all competitions.

The Seagulls are conceding an average of 10.23 shots per home game in the Premier League this season. Bournemouth had 19 shots in the last game at the Amex Arena and they face another capable side in Fulham.

The Cottagers have played six away matches in 2025. This bet has won in all of those games with Fulham averaging 14.83 shots in normal time. Fulham have reached the 10 shot mark in 12 of their 13 Premier League away matches this season.

  • Selection: Over 9.5 Shots For Fulham (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.80
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Brentford vs Aston Villa: Head-to-Heads Show Promise

England, Premier League, Saturday, 8th March, 17:30 (UK)

Brentford were the best home team in the Premier League heading into the festive season. The Bees were unbeaten in their first eight league games in front of their own fans. However, they have failed to win any of their last six home matches, leaving them 11th in the table.

Aston Villa are flourishing in the Champions League but their hopes of returning to the competition have been dashed by their inconsistency in the league. Unai Emery’s side are 10th and have failed to win in any of their last seven domestic games after a European fixture.

The Bees’ league matches have seen an average of 31.37 throws. This increases to 32.36 if we only include the data from their home matches. Manchester City and Southampton are the teams who rank closest to Aston Villa in terms of match throws. There were 29 and 34 throws when those teams faced Brentford at the GTech Community Stadium.

The Villains’ matches have seen the fewest throws in the top tier of English football with an average of 26.07 but the line set by the bookmakers looks a little low here. There were 39 throws the last time they played at this ground.

  • Selection: Over 26.5 Throws In The Match (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.83
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Wolves vs Everton: End-to-End Stuff at Molineux

England, Premier League, Saturday, 8th March, 20:00 (UK)

Wolves aren’t out of the woods in terms of relegation. Vitor Pereira will fancy his side’s chances of finishing ahead of the current bottom three but a win over Everton would give them a nice cushion. The Old Gold have won just three of their 13 league games at Molineux but they have won two in five since the change of manager.

David Moyes has reinvigorated the Everton attack despite a plethora of injuries. The Scotsman’s return has seen the Toffees move 10 points ahead of Saturday’s opponents. They are now unbeaten in their last seven Premier League games.

Wolves’ matches have seen an average of 13.52 goal kicks per game this season. This aligns with the bookmaker’s line but there should be more when they clash with Everton. There were 16 goal kicks in their last home game. Over 13.5 goal kicks has won in their last five competitive games and in the reverse fixture against Everton.

Everton’s matches under Moyes (his second stint as boss) have seen an average of 15.44 goal kicks. There have been 14 or more goal kicks in all three of their away matches since the managerial change with an average of 16.67.

  • Selection: Over 13.5 Goal Kicks In The Match (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.80
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Tottenham vs Bournemouth: Tackles Galore When These Teams do Battle

England, Premier League, Sunday, 9th March, 14:00 (UK)

Tottenham have had a torrid season. They sit 13th in the Premier League after being beaten at home by Manchester City last time out. The pressure has been building on Ange Postecoglou but the Australian is determined to alter the club’s fortunes. Success in the Europa League is still on the cards but Spurs have very little to play for domestically.

Bournemouth, on the other hand, have been flying. Andoni Iraola’s team have a clear identity. They look to press high and be direct in attack. They are just four points off the Champions League places coming into the weekend.

This is a game that should see plenty of tackles. Like Bournemouth, Tottenham also like to be aggressive when they don’t have the ball. Ange’s team also display plenty of attacking intent. As a result, their matches have seen the most tackles in the league with an average of 40.48. This increases to 41.71 at home.

The Cherries’ matches also rank high for tackles with an average of 38.04 per game. The line is set above that but recent head-to-head data paints a promising picture. There were 49 tackles in the reverse fixture and 42 in the last meeting in London. Bournemouth’s last away game saw 46 tackles.

OPTA Stats

  • Selection: Over 41.5 Tackles In The Match (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.83
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Manchester United vs Arsenal: Goalmouth Action at Old Trafford

England, Premier League, Sunday, 9th March, 16:30 (UK)

Manchester United’s woes continued as they were dumped out of the FA Cup by Fulham last weekend. Ruben Amorim’s challenge from now until the end of the season is ensuring his players become accustomed to his system ahead of a summer overhaul. The Red Devils are set to have their worst ever Premier League season.

Arsenal have fallen 13 points behind Liverpool after a poor run of results in the league. The Gunners looked mich better in the Champions League as they hammered PSV 7-1. Mikel Arteta will be hoping his team carry that confidence into the game at Old Trafford.

Amorim’s side lack cutting edge in front of goal but their home matches have seen plenty of shots. The Portuguese manager has taken charge of eight league games at home and those have seen an average of 25.5 shots.

The Gunners committed bodies forward in the win over PSV. The lack of a focal point in attack means the whole team need to contribute to the attack. They will look to hurt this lacklustre United team and should rack up the shots. There were 27 attempts in their midweek victory in Europe. There have been 23 shots or more in their last three matches at Old Trafford.

  • Selection: Over 22.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.80
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10
