Scott Thornton has six bets on the props markets as we head into the matchday 25 of the Premier League season.

We have a Friday night game to look forward to in the form of Brighton vs Chelsea. On Saturday, Arsenal kick things off when they head to Leicester. Later that day we have West Ham vs Brentford before Crystal Palace host Everton in the later game. Liverpool are looking to get their title charge back on track in Sunday’s first game before Ange Postecoglou fights to keep his job against Ruben Amorim.

Acca odds: 31.59

Brighton vs Chelsea: Same Again at the Amex

England, Premier League, Friday, 14th February, 20:00 (UK)

Brighton knocked Chelsea out of the FA Cup at this ground last weekend but now it is time for the league meetings. The Seagulls have won just two of their last 12 games in the league. This poor run of form has seen them drop to 10th, nine points behind the top four.

The Blues currently occupy 4th spot. A festive slump saw Enzo Maresca’s team fall out of the title race but securing a return to the Champions League would be viewed as a tremendous success in the Italian’s first season.

The Seagulls’ matches have seen plenty of tackles this season with an average of 37.83, the sixth-highest in the Premier League. Their last three league outings have reached the 40-tackle mark. Their last home match in the league saw 49 tackles.

Chelsea’s matches rank low for tackles but that isn’t the case when they square off against Brentford. There were 38 tackles when the teams went toe-to-toe at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season. Last weekend’s cup meeting saw a whopping 46 tackles.

  • Selection: Over 34.5 Tackles In The Match (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.90
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Leicester vs Arsenal: The Gunners Lack Firepower

England, Premier League, Saturday, 15th February, 12:30 (UK)

Leicester were unfortunate to be dumped out of the FA Cup courtesy of an offside goal from Harry Maguire last week. However, survival is the focus for the Foxes and beating Arsenal would provide a massive boost to those hopes. Ruud Van Nistelrooy has won just two of his 11 games in charge, leaving the team in 18th.

Arsenal are hoping to keep the pressure on Liverpool but an injury to Kai Havertz has left them with limited options in attack. The Gunners were already without Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus until the end of the campaign and now there is talk that Mikel Merino could be deployed as a striker. Nevertheless, Arteta’s men are just seven points off top.

There were just 19 shots when the Foxes travelled to Old Trafford last weekend and this one could play out in a similar manner. Their most recent league games saw just 22 shots and their last game at the King Power also saw under 25.5 shots land.

Arsenal matches have seen the second-fewest attempts in the league with an average of 24. This bet has won in four of their last five away league matches and the lack of a striker should further hinder their ability to rack up the shots. There were just 11 attempts the last time the Gunners visited this ground.

  • Selection: Under 25.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.72
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 7/10

West Ham vs Brentford: Vulnerable Bees

England, Premier League, Saturday, 15th February, 15:00 (UK)

West Ham turned to Graham Potter after a poor start to the season under Julen Lopetegui but it’s safe to say the new boss hasn’t made a flying start. The Hammers have just one win in five Premier League matches under Potter but they have showed fight in recent outings. The club have 27 points after 24 matches and should comfortably avoid relegation.

Most of Brentford’s good work has been done on home turf but they have managed to win their last two league games on the road. The Bees were beaten by Tottenham at the Gtech Community Stadium last weekend and need to get back to winning ways to keep any European ambitions alive.

The Hammers are averaging 13.79 shots per game in the league. They’ve reached the 14-shot mark in their last two against Chelsea and Aston Villa. West Ham are capable of having more attempts off against a Brentford team who afford their opponents plenty of opportunities to shoot. They had 19 shots in the reverse fixture and 17 the last time they hosted the Bees.

Brentford are conceding the most shots in the division with an average of 18.42. This climbs to 20.91 if we only use the data from their away games so the West Ham shot line appeals here.

  • Selection: Over 13.5 Shots For West Ham (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.72
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Crystal Palace vs Everton: The Toffees Have Momentum

England, Premier League, Saturday, 15th February, 17:30 (UK)

Crystal Palace beat Manchester United 2-0 at Old Trafford in their last league game. Oliver Glasner oversaw a very poor start to the season but the Eagles have looked dangerous in recent months. They are now 12th in the league and have a great chance of reaching the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Everton have had less time to prepare thanks to the rescheduled Merseyside Derby but that should have given them some momentum coming into this one. The Toffees snatched a late draw against their rivals as David Moyes continued his marvellous start to his second stint at the club.

The Eagles are averaging 7.92 goal kicks, the fifth most in the Premier League this season. They have had six or more goal kicks in their last five league games with an average of 8.8 per game.

The Toffees were willing to go direct against Liverpool. They managed to create plenty of chances with limited possession and it also led to the league leaders having 10 goal kicks in the match. Everton should see more of the ball here but should still be willing to play some speculative balls into the box that aid the goal kick count. Palace had 13 goal kicks the last time they hosted Everton.

  • Selection: Over 5.5 Goal Kicks For Crystal Palace (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.72
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Liverpool vs Wolves: An End to the Chaos at Anfield

England, Premier League, Sunday, 16th February, 14:00 (UK)

Liverpool saw red at the end of their midweek clash with Everton. Both Curtis Jones and Arne Slot were sent off for their involvement in the melee that followed the final whistle but they should have enough to get past Wolves, even without the Dutchman on the touchline here.

Vitor Pereira will be happy with the results since he took over at Wolves. His team beat Aston Villa in their last league games and the 10 points they have picked up since the new manager came in has helped move the team out of the relegation zone. However, they are just two points from safety coming into the weekend.

Arne Slot’s Liverpool are known for controlling games so expect them to revert to that after a chaotic game at Goodison Park. The Reds’ home matches have seen an average of 33.67 throws. Under 34.5 throws has won in seven of their last 10 competitive games at Anfield.

There were 29 throws when Wolves welcomed Liverpool to Molineux back in September. The last time they played at Anfield there were just 31 throws.

  • Selection: Under 34.5 Throws In The Match (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.72
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10

Tottenham vs Manchester United: Managers Call for Fighting Spirit

England, Premier League, Sunday, 16th February, 16:30 (UK)

Ange Postecoglou is sailing dangerously close to the wind. Pressure is growing on the manager and the board above him as Tottenham continue to falter. They look set for a bottom-half finish and the Europa League is now their only chance of silverware.

Ruben Amorim is also looking to see massive improvements in his Manchester United team. He has failed to get a tune out of them since coming in during the November international break. Cup success is seemingly their only hope of qualifying for Europe but performances must improve.

With Postecoglou on the brink, Tottenham should show plenty of fight here so we are backing tackles in the match. There were 46 tackles when Spurs eliminated Manchester United from the EFL Cup in December. Ange’s team forced 27 tackles in the previous league meeting but didn’t make their usual contribution to the tackle count due to a Bruno Fernandes red card.

Manchester United matches have seen the most tackles in the Premier League with an average of 41.85. Tottenham rank second in this regard with their matches seeing 41.08 on average.

  • Selection: Over 38.5 Tackles In The Match (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.90
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 8/10
