Saturday Premier League Acca: December 11th

Saturday Premier League Acca: December 11th

I’ve got all five Premier League matches on my card for this Saturday acca. I’m going for a bit of a low-scoring weekend in many of the matches in England’s top flight. That features perhaps the biggest game this weekend as Steven Gerrard returns to Anfield to take charge of his Aston Villa side. I’m going for a high-scoring match there. I’ve got picks for all nine Premier League matches if you click here.

PREMIER LEAGUE ACCUMULATOR SELECTION ODDS
Manchester City vs Wolves No on BTTS 1.50
Chelsea vs Leeds Leeds +1.5 (AH) 2.05
Liverpool vs Aston Villa Over 2.5 Goals 1.40
Arsenal vs Southampton No on BTTS 1.95
Norwich vs Manchester United Under 2.5 Goals 2.10
TOTAL ACCA ODDS: 17.62

Odds correct from bet365 as at 11:30 am December 10th 2021. Odds may now differ.

Selection 1: Manchester City vs Wolves – No on Both Teams to Score

I’m backing No on Both Teams to Score here. This is under the assumption that Manchester City will keep a clean sheet against Wolves. There’s very little value in backing City to get the win in the 1×2 considering how low the odds are so I think No on BTTS is a better solution.

City are due a clean sheet after three straight matches without them. Pep Guardiola may be able to call upon centre-back Aymeric Laporte once again for this match which would surely strengthen their backline. But my bet is also fuelled by Wolves’ offensive problems. Bruno Lage’s men have only scored once in their last four Premier League matches.

Another good solution here would be to back Wolves plus a generous handicap. The bookies have the handicap line at Wolves +2 but I think that’s generous. City have won their last five Premier League matches but four of them were by a margin of two goals or fewer.

Selection 2: Chelsea vs Leeds – Leeds +1.5 (AH)

I’ve gone for Leeds plus one and a half goals here. Most bookies have the Asian line at Leeds+1.75 but I’m being more aggressive here. I think Marcelo Bielsa’s men have a decent chance of getting something from this match – or at least not losing it by too many goals. Leeds have only lost two matches by a margin of two or more goals. They were against Liverpool and Manchester United at Old Trafford.

They now face a Chelsea side that has been struggling of late. The Blues have won only two of their last five Premier League matches. A lot of that is down to a dip in their defensive performance. Chelsea have conceded five goals in their last three Premier League matches. That’s more than they let in during every league game before that this campaign. I can see Leeds getting on the scoresheet here which gives them a great chance of getting something on that handicap line.

Selection 3: Liverpool vs Aston Villa – Over 2.5 Goals

Steven Gerrard will return to Anfield in the opposition dugout for the first time here as he takes charge of his Aston Villa side. I think we’ll see at least three goals in this match as Liverpool secure another convincing win. Their average goal tally at home is a little worse than their away record but I think they should have enough to get on the scoresheet.  Mohamed Salah is in exceptional form, as is forward Diogo Jota.

That’s not to write off Aston Villa. Villa have only failed to score in two of their 15 Premier League games this season. Only two sides have failed to score in fewer of their fixtures this season and one of them is Liverpool. The Reds have scored at least twice in 13 of their 15 Premier League games this season. I think they’ll do so again here and secure a 2-1 or 3-1 win over Villa.

Former Liverpool and Aston Villa midfielder Ray Houghton expects a tough match for the Reds.

“What they should expect is a team that’s fully focused. If you look at the results since Stevie has taken over – 3 wins and only 1 defeat to Man City – you expect that considering the form City are at the moment,” Houghton said in an exclusive interview with bettingexpert.com.

“They (Aston Villa) look like they’ve changed the shape slightly. They’ve gone 4-3-3. Before that Aston Villa were looking around, trying to find the best formula, best formation that could suit the players they have. They were going in between a back 3, back 4, back 5. With Steven coming in, he’s got a plan in place that he thinks is best for the team – that certainly looks 4-3-3.”

“Going into the game, every player will know exactly what’s required from them. They’ve shown in the previous games. But they’re up against one of the best teams in world football at the moment who are supremely confident.”

“Liverpool have just come off beating AC Milan and becoming the first team in English history that has won all 6 games in the (Champions League) group stage. That’s the form they’re in even when making the changes that they did which just shows you how confident they are.”

“It’s a big game for Villa that will tell Steven a little bit more about his team, his players and an understanding of what he wants going in to a stadium like Anfield where you’ve got to hold your nerves. He’ll find out a great deal about his individuals and as a team in the game.”

Selection 4: Arsenal vs Southampton – No on Both Teams to Score

I’m backing at least one side to fail to score here. Arsenal have had a dire week with consecutive defeats to Manchester United and Everton. They’ve conceded nine goals in their last four matches including four at Anfield last month. The Gunners now face a Southampton side that have only lost two of their last eight league games. The Saints have found some form so it’s hard to write them off here. The Gunners are the big favourites but are conceding a lot of goals and have struggled to create chances.

Still, I think a Gunners win and clean sheet is the likeliest outcome here. Arsenal have kept clean sheets in half of their 12 league games this season. They’ve shut their opponents out in both of their last two home matches and I wouldn’t be surprised if they did so again here against the goal-shy Saints team. This bet covers both scenarios.

Selection 5: Norwich vs Manchester United – Under 2.5 Goals

I’m going for a low-scoring match as new Manchester United boss Ralph Rangnick takes charge of his first away game. There has been a definite improvement at Old Trafford since the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

They pressed high against Crystal Palace last weekend and didn’t give their centre-backs any time on the ball. Palace have come to rely on that under Patrick Vieira but the same cannot be said of Norwich. The Canaries have had an average of 45.6% ball possession this season, amongst the lowest in the top-flight.  I think that sets Norwich up as a tougher opponent for United, especially away from home.

United have struggled for goals of late. They’ve scored five in their last five Premier League matches and three of them came in the win over Arsenal last week. They needed a wondergoal from midfielder Fred to get the points and the data suggests it was undeserved. United have had under 1 xG in three of their last five league games. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is another low-scoring game.

What is a Football Acca?

A  football acca is an accumulator bet, a type of bet that consists of several selections across different matches that are combined together into one single bet. An acca usually. consists of at least four selections but many more can be included. There will be odds for the single bet as a whole which is calculated by multiplying the odds of all of the selections. A  football acca is one of the most popular ways to bet. This is the case because they can create potentially massive odds for a small stake. Many punters choose to create Premier League accas which is what we have created here.If one of these selections loses then the football acca will lose. This type of bet needs every selection to win in order to succeed.
