Machida Zelvia vs JEF United Chiba Preview
Japan, J2 League, Saturday, July 22nd, 10:00 (UK)
Machida Zelvia leads the way in Japan’s J2 league. They’ve scored 42 goals, with 17 going in at the other end in 25 matches. No side has picked up more points at home than their 30 in 13.
There’s still a long way to go in the division, but the home side can extend their lead at the top into double digits with a victory over 15th-placed Chiba, who have one of the worst away records of the 22 clubs.
Brazilian forward Erik tops the top scorer table with 14 goals and a further seven assists. The 29-year-old has bagged in five of his last six starts for the table toppers.
These clubs met in early June at the Fukuda Denshi Arena, where Machida ran out 2-0 winners. They went off as favourites that day and, of course, are again this weekend, although I would’ve expected them to be priced up considerably shorter.
Machida Zelvia vs JEF United Chiba Best Bet
With the home side winning nine home matches from 13 and losing just once, the Asian handicap allows us to back them at -0.25, a selection that’s lost just three times in 25 games.
Chiba have picked up maximum points in just two of their 13 away trips, with seven defeats. It’ll be tricky to see how the visitors leave here with all three points, and even if they do claim a draw, we’ll only lose half of our stake.
- Selection: Machida Zelvia -0.25 Asian Handicap
- Best Odds: 1.87 (William Hill)
- Stakes: 5/10

Molde vs Sarpsborg Preview
Norway, Eliteserien, Saturday, July 22nd, 17:00 (UK)
Erling Moe’s Molde started their 2023/24 Eliteserien season in a hugely disappointing fashion. They earned just a single point from the opening four rounds, leaving fellow pre-season title contenders Bodo 12 points ahead at the halfway stage.
Results in recent weeks have improved massively. Only the league leaders have picked up more points from the previous ten outings. Molde will need an immaculate second half of the season and hope Bodo capitulates if they want to win back-to-back titles.
Sarpsborg currently occupies 7th spot and boasts the fourth-best away record in the division. They’ve recorded a solitary shutout in their last ten matches in Norway. It’d be a shock if they were to keep out a free-flowing Molde attack.
These sides met in the cup just last week at the Aker Stadion. Molde won 3-1 after a dominant first-half performance. I expect a similar scoreline on Saturday afternoon.
Molde vs Sarpsborg Best Bet
After being unable to settle on one pick, I have two selections to share here. Molde have scored 17 goals in seven matches at home this campaign, they’re on a solid run of form, and they should expect to find the back of the net multiple times here. The home side have racked up 61 corners in that time, a huge 8.71 on average, with six or more coming in each match.
Ola Brynhildsen is the leading scorer for the hosts. Across his previous eight starts in all competitions, he’s bagged nine times. The 24-year-old is priced nicely to score once again in a game where the goal line is set incredibly high.
- Selection: Molde 2+ Goals & 6+ Corners (2.00) – Skybet
- Selection: Ola Brynhildsen Anytime Goalscorer (2.05) – bet365
- Best Odds: Skybet & bet365
- Stakes: 5/10 & 5/10
San Lorenzo vs Argentinos Jrs Preview
Argentina, Liga Profesional, Saturday, July 22nd, 19:30 (UK)
San Lorenzo are performing remarkably in the Argentinian top flight this campaign. They’re currently sitting in 3rd spot and welcome the lowest-scoring side on the road on Saturday night.
Ruben Dario Insua’s side have played 13 games at home this season. They’ve still not conceded a goal which is simply outrageous. They held River Plate to a 0-0 here just two weeks ago and should fancy their chances of extending that record to 14 in this clash.
Gabriel Milito and his side are rarely amongst any entertaining affairs on their travels. Fourteen goals have been scored in their 13 away days, bagging just five times in total. The sides from Buenos Aires scored just once in their last five away matches.
San Lorenzo vs Argentinos Jrs Best Bet
It’s never enjoyable backing a side to keep a clean sheet, no matter the circumstances, but with San Lorenzo’s perfect record so far and the lack of goals the visitors score, the price is worth taking.
No side has created upwards of 1.0xG when playing here this season. It may be best to avoid tuning in when they meet on Saturday at Estadio Pedro Bidegain, but let’s hope the home side keeps switched on and allow nothing past in defensive areas.
- Selection: Argentinos Jrs Under 0.5 Goals
- Best Odds: 2.38 (Betfair)
- Stakes: 5/10
Odds as at 11:00 July 20th 2023. Odds may now differ.

WHAT IS A FOOTBALL ACCA?
A football acca is an accumulator bet, a type of bet that consists of several selections across different matches that are combined together into one single bet. An acca usually. consists of at least four selections but many more can be included. There will be odds for the single bet as a whole which is calculated by multiplying the odds of all of the selections. A football acca is one of the most popular ways to bet. This is the case because they can create potentially massive odds for a small stake. Many punters choose to create football accas which is what we have created here. If one of these selections loses then the football acca will lose. This type of bet needs every selection to win in order to succeed.
