Roma vs Inter Milan Tip 1: After a flying start comes a real test for De Rossi
Italy, Serie A, Saturday, February 10th, 17:00 (UK)
Monday’s 4-0 win was the best performance of Daniele De Rossi’s three-week-long tenure as a manager. The Giallorossi scored Serie A’s fastest goal of the season after 62 seconds with Lorenzo Pellegrini (three goals in the last three matches for the captain) and kept pushing for more.
Roma played with great intensity and a combative spirit that was lacking in the weeks that led to Mourinho’s sacking. Has De Rossi found, magically and quickly, the formula to help Roma express their full potential?
The fixtures list has been kind with the new manager (Verona, Salernitana and Cagliari), and in the previous two games, the team struggled to impose its style.
But, undeniably, it feels like there’s something in the air as Roma approaches such a big match.
It was in games like the one on Saturday that under Josè Mourinho, the Giallorossi failed to deliver, as they won only three of their last 17 games against Italy’s top five (Inter, Milan, Juventus, Lazio and Napoli).
Now that De Rossi has managed to restore the players’ confidence, it will be interesting to see whether he decides to stick with his attacking formation, starting Lukaku, Dybala, El Sharaawy and Pellegrini against the leaders.

Roma vs Inter Milan Tip 2: Neroazzurri are sticking to their new year’s resolution
Roma holds a fantastic record at the Olimpico, having scored in their last 26 games in all competitions. The last time they did not find the net?
You guessed it right: it was against Inter Milan in April 2023 (a 2-0 win for the visitors, thanks to goals from Romelu Lukaku and Federico Dimarco). Simone Inzaghi’s team numbers are impressive: only once in their history, in the 2006/2007 season, they have collected more points (60) after 22 games.
If a criticism must be moved to them, it is that last Sunday against Juventus, they failed to convert a handful of great chances.
Otherwise, it was almost a perfect display in the most important game of the season so far, superbly orchestrated by Hakan Çalhanoğlu.
Inter managed the tempo and never looked like they were going to concede against the Bianconeri.
In fact, Yann Sommer had no saves to make as the Neroazzurri strengthened their defensive record: 10 goals conceded and 14 clean sheets (eight more than Roma).
Whoever was expecting Inter to struggle in the new year due to their recent trip to Saudi Arabia to play the SuperCoppa hasn’t taken into account this team’s experience and confidence.
They won them all in 2024, and so far, their season is almost as good as Napoli’s last year (the Partenopei had only two points in the table at this stage).
- Roma vs Inter Milan Tip 2: Paulo Dybala Over 0.5 Shots On Target and Federico Dimarco Over 0.5 Shots (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 1.80

- Stake: 9/10
Roma vs Inter Milan Tip 3: Dybala delivers in front of home crowd
But this is probably the worst time of the season to face Roma, especially if the hosts decide to play at high intensity and attack.
In the reverse fixture, which Inter won 1-0, the Giallorossi hardly had a shot on target, but that night they were without their talisman, Paulo Dybala.
The Argentine’s fitness has always been a cause of concern, but when he’s been available, he’s often left a mark.
Since last season ‘La Joya’ has taken part in 40 goals (26 goals and 14 assists), and he has netted 18 times at the Stadio Olimpico.
His presence could be a significant factor for Daniele De Rossi’s team, which has been unbeaten at home in the last 14 games in all competitions.
Despite not being spectacular under Mourinho, the hosts have always proven hard to defeat in Roma for Italy’s top teams: Atalanta and Fiorentina both managed just a 1-1 draw, and Napoli suffered a 2-0 loss in December.
Inter, on the other hand, haven’t lost any of their last twelve away matches in Serie A and can count on a stronger bench.
Ultimately, this is also a match between last year’s runners-up in the two major European competitions, and as such, it might be on a knife edge.

Roma vs Inter Milan Team News and Possible Lineups: both managers are sticking with the same XI
There’ll probably be no changes on either side from the formations that won their respective games last weekend. Roma are without Spinazzola and Abraham, both injured, whereas Smalling might be fit to make the bench. N’Dicka (AFCON) and Azmoun (Asian Cup of Nations) are also not available.
The only doubt for Daniele De Rossi is between El Shaarawy and Bove; with the latter one on the pitch, Roma would switch to a 4-3-2-1 formation with Pellegrini behind the strikers, Lukaku and Dybala.
Simone Inzaghi can count on his full squad (apart from Juan Cuadrado, who was injured) and will confirm the same XI that has beaten Juventus. Matteo Darmian is still ahead of Denzel Dumfries in starting as right wing-back.
Roma possible starting lineup:
Rui Patricio; Karsdrop, Mancini, Llorente D., Angelino; Pellegrini, Paredes, Cristante; El Shaarawy, Dybala; Lukaku
Inter Milan possible starting lineup:
Sommer; Pavard, Acerbi, Bastoni; Darmian, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Thuram, Martinez
