Despite this being what you’d call a dead rubber, Matthew O’Regan is on hand to deliver his Real Madrid vs Real Betis prediction, team news, lineups and fixtures preview ahead of a summer packed with international football.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side have had the title wrapped up for weeks and will have one eye on their Champions League final bout with Borussia Dortmund, while Manuel Pellegrini’s Real Betis side are confirmed to finish 7th.

Real Madrid vs Real Betis Prediction 1: Goals For Guler

Spain, La Liga, Saturday, May 25th , 20:00 (UK)

Nineteen-year-old sensation Arda Guler was signed in the summer from Fenerbache and came with lots of hype. While it’s been hard to break into a side containing Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo, the Turk has waited for his opportunities and taken them in recent weeks.

Guler scored in the 0-4 victory at Granada before coming off the bench to score in the 5-0 drubbing of Alaves. He followed this up by scoring a first-half brace in the 4-4 draw at Villareal.

The teen is averaging a whopping 1.45 goals per 90 from 0.35 xG. He is also averaging 3.62 shots and 1.45 shots on target per 90.

While he most likely won’t start in the Champions League final, Guler will be keen to put himself in the reckoning with a strong performance against Betis, making it five goals in four games. Real Madrid are expected to have one eye on their Champions League final with Borussia Dortmund, so expect some rotation.

  • Real Madrid vs Real Betis  Prediction 1: Arda Guler to Score

Real Madrid vs Real Betis Prediction 2: Ageing like fine wine

After his disastrous spell in England with Stoke and Newcastle, few could have envisioned Joselu’s redemption arc in Spain.

A clinical three season spell at Alaves caught the eye of Espanyol, where Joselu scored 16 goals in 34 league games. This prompted Real Madrid to loan in the big striker and the 34-year-old has turned out to be an inspired signing.

After being subbed on in the 81st minute against Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final, Joselu scored two added-time goals to send Madrid to Wembley. In the league, he has started 15 goals, scoring 10 goals, mainly being used as a super sub. S

Still, his per 90 stats are impressive, scoring 0.54 goals per 90, averaging 3.38 shots and 1.56 shots on target in this timeframe. Joselu also scored in the 4-4 draw with Villareal.

Again, Madrid should rotate so Joselu can be afforded an opportunity from the start – an opportunity he will relish.

  • Real Madrid vs Real Betis Prediction 2: Joselu to Score
  • Best Odds: 2.20
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 7/10

Real Madrid vs Real Betis Prediction 3: Flawless Galaticos

Real Madrid are 12 points ahead of fierce rivals Barcelona, having wrapped up the title weeks ago. A dramatic 4-4 draw at Villareal last week halted a run of ten straight league wins, as Carlo Ancelotti’s side continues their dominance in Spain.

In fact, the Galaticos have only lost once all season – coming in a 3-1 defeat to same-city rivals Atletico Madrid in September. Madrid will also have one eye on next week’s Champions League final with Borussia Dortmund, so expect rotation.

However, even their bench squad is packed full of talent so Real Madrid still head into this as heavy favourites. At their world famous Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid have won 16 and drawn just two of their 18 games, averaging 2.6 goals scored and just 0.5 conceded per game.

Fourteen of their 16 home wins have seen them score at least twice, with Real Madrid scoring a first-half goal in 11 of these.

Real Betis are sat comfortably in 7th, unable to finish any higher or any lower. Manuel Pellegrini’s side have been in good form, with their 0-2 loss to Real Sociedad ending a six-game unbeaten run. Before this, Betis had lost four games in a row, conceding 2+ in all of these, so Los Verdiblancos are an inconsistent team.

With Real Madrid protecting a near-flawless home record, they will be keen to give their home fans one final show before building momentum ahead of the Champions League final.

  • Real Madrid vs Real Betis Prediction 3:Over 0.5 First half Goals for Real Madrid, Over 1 Goal for Real Madrid and Real Madrid to Win
  • Best Odds: 1.75
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 10/10

Real Madrid vs Real Betis Team News and Possible Lineups: Rotated Real

Real Madrid have rotated in recent weeks as they look to save key players such as Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo and VInicus Junior for the UCL final in London. Injury wise, David Alaba is back in training after being injured in December, but Saturday may be slightly too early for him. Aurelien Tchouameni was injured in the Champions League tie with Bayern Munich but should be fit for next weeks final.

Betis have a host of injuries. Former Barcelona centre back Marc Bartra has been out injured since October with an achilles injury, while player of the season Isco is set to miss his Madrid reunion with an injury. Veterans Cedric Bakambu, Ezequiel Avila, German Pezzella and Guido Rodriguez are also injured.

Real Madrid possible starting lineup:
Lunin, Vazquez, Nacho, Rudiger, Garcia; Ceballos, Modric, Kroos; Diaz, Joselu, Guler

Real Betis possible starting lineup:
Silva; Bellerin, Sokratis, Riad, Miranda; Johnny, Carvalho; Rodri, Fekir, Perez; Jose

Match Stats: Invincible Madrid

  • Madrid are unbeaten in 23 league home games.
  • Madrid are unbeaten in the last five meetings with Betis.
  • A win would make this season Madrid’s highest points tally in their history.
  • Betis have scored the fewest goals in the top eight.
