Leicester vs Nottingham Forest: An End-to-End Clash
England, Premier League, Friday, 25th October, 20:00 (UK)
Leicester secured a crucial three points as they came from two goals behind to beat Southampton 3-2 last weekend. Jordan Ayew scored the decisive goal in the 98th minute to give the Foxes their second league win of the season and move them up into 14th in the Premier League.
Nuno Espirito Santo will be ecstatic with how his team have played thus far. Their 13 points means they sit 8th in the table, above the likes of Manchester United and Newcastle. Nottingham Forest have suffered just one defeat in eight league matches.
The Foxes’ home matches have seen an average of 36.75 throws per game and this is largely due to their recent clashes with Bournemouth and Everton which saw 43 and 49 throws respectively. The throw numbers dwindled when Leicester hosted Aston Villa and Tottenham. Those teams finished in the top five last season and were able to dictate the flow of the game. The clash with Nuno’s side should be far more end-to-end.
Forest’s away matches have seen an average of 35.5 throws per game, which is in line with the line set by bet365 here. However, we are backing this game to exceed that number.
- Selection: Over 35.5 Throws In The Match (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 1.83
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 7/10
Brentford vs Ipswich: Plenty of Sting on the Bees Home Turf
England, Premier League, Saturday, 1st January, 15:00 (UK)
Brentford have performed their best on home turf so far this season. They have picked up 10 points from a possible 12 in front of their own fans. Four defeats on the road mean they sit 13th in the table but they will fancy their chances of overcoming Ipswich on Saturday.
After back-to-back promotions, the Premier League was always going to be a baptism of fire for the Tractor Boys. They have four points thanks to four draws so they are still awaiting their first win of the campaign.
The Bees’ matches have seen the most shots in the Premier League with an average of 29.62 attempts. This climbs to 31 if we only use the data from their home matches. There have been 26 shots or more in their last seven league outings.
Shot numbers have been lower when Ipswich takes to the field. Their away matches have seen an average of 24.5 shots. There were 29 attempts in their last game on the road against West Ham
- Selection: Over 25.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 1.83
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 7/10
Everton vs Fulham: Tackle Numbers Dwindling for Fulham
England, Premier League, Saturday, 26th October, 17:30 (UK)
Everton are five points clear of the relegation zone after eight matches. They lost their opening four games, conceding 13 goals in the process but things have improved dramatically since then. Sean Dyche’s side have now gone four games unbeaten in the league but they face a stern test on Saturday.
Fulham are soaring high in the top half of the Premier League. They are 10th going into matchday nine but head to Goodison Park on the back of two defeats. Those came against Manchester City and Newcastle.
The Toffees’ matches so far this season have seen the second most tackles in the top tier of English football with an average of 42. However, we are backing under 37.5 in the match here. This bet has won in the last six league meetings between these sides with an average of 28.33 tackles per game.
Marco Silva’s side’s matches have seen the second-fewest tackles in the Premier League thus far with an average of 32.12 per game. Under 37.5 tackles has landed in six of their eight league outings.
- Selection: Under 37.5 Tackles In The Match (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 1.80
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 8/10
Chelsea vs Newcastle: Maresca’s Patient Approach
England, Premier League, Sunday, 27th October, 14:00 (UK)
Chelsea succumbed to defeat at Anfield last weekend but their performance was well received. The Blues’ faithful recognise it will take some time for Maresca to turn them into title contenders once again. Despite the positives, Chelsea will be looking to get back to winning ways when they face Newcastle this weekend.
The Magpies are enduring a run of four Premier League matches without a win but they do have the chance to leapfrog Chelsea in the table if they can secure a rare win at Stamford Bridge. They haven’t won at this ground since 2012.
Enzo Maresca favours a patient approach in possession and is very reluctant to instruct his team to go direct. Chelsea are also adept at playing through the opposition press so their matches have seen an average of 30.5 throws, the sixth fewest in the division.
Newcastle matches have seen 33.75 throws on average. Under 33.5 throws has landed in their last two away games, which includes a clash with Everton, whose matches have seen the third most throws in the Premier League
- Selection: Under 33.5 Throws In The Match (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 1.83
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 8/10
West Ham vs Manchester United: Ten Hag Has Addressed Some of United’s Defensive Woes
England, Premier League, Sunday, 27th October, 14:00 (UK)
West Ham are looking to improve. They took the lead against Tottenham last weekend but were beaten 4-1. Julen Lopetegui has overseen just two league wins heading into matchday nine but the Hammers have won four of their last six home games against Manchester United.
Erik Ten Hag is under pressure following the poor start to the season but the win over Brentford has alleviated some of that. Manchester United remain in the bottom half of the table and need to put a string of wins together if they are to catch up with the sides chasing Europe.
Under 29.5 shots has won in two of West Ham’s four home league matches in this campaign. However, there were just 23 shots when West Ham hosted Manchester United in the league last season.
Manchester United matches saw the most shots in the Premier League last season with an average of 32.03 but that number has dropped to 25.62 this term. Erik Ten Hag has gone some way towards addressing the team’s defensive frailties and they concede far fewer shots as a result. There have been 25 shots or fewer in all four of their league matches on the road this season.
- Selection: Under 29.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 1.80
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 8/10
Arsenal vs Liverpool: Cautious Approach from Both Teams
England, Premier League, Sunday, 27th October, 16:30 (UK)
Arsenal suffered another setback in their quest to become champions last weekend. William Saliba was sent off as the Gunners were beaten 2-0 by Bournemouth. Mikel Arteta’s side have the chance to bounce back against the side who are top of the league but they will be without their first-choice centre-back pairing.
Liverpool, on the other hand, secured victory last weekend by beating Chelsea 2-1. Arne Slot has made a dream start to his time at Anfield and has his team a point ahead of Manchester City and four ahead of Arsenal in the title race.
The last five league meetings between Arsenal and Liverpool at the Emirates have seen an average of 21.6 shots per game. Arteta will be aware of the threat that Slot’s team poses and will look to keep it tight once again. There have been 20, 22 and 38 shots in the games where Arsenal have faced one of last season’s top five in the current campaign. The 38 shots came against City and Arsenal were reduced to 10 men.
Slot’s attacking approach has been more patient than Jurgen Klopp’s. As a result, Liverpool’s away matches have seen an average of 21.75 shots per game.
- Selection: Under 24.5 Shots In The Match (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 1.90
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 8/10
